A lot of requests have come rolling in and one of the most requested was a breakdown of the top quarterbacks in EA Sports NCAA Football 14. Below you will find a compiled list with ratings. Here you go!

1) 97 OVR – Johnny Manziel QB#2 – Texas A&M – SO(RS)

2) 97 OVR – A.J. McCarron QB#10 – Alabama – SR(RS)

3) 96 OVR – Braxton Miller QB#5 – Ohio State – JR

4) 96 OVR – Teddy Bridgewater QB#5 – Louisville – JR

5) 96 OVR – Aaron Murray QB#11 – Georgia – SR(RS)

6) 95 OVR – Tahj Boyd QB#10 – Clemson – SR(RS)

If you read my article on the top 15 rated players in NCAA 14, then you should already be familiar with the above. Now on to the new stuff!

7) 93 OVR - Bryn Renner QB#2 - North Carolina - SR(RS)

A lot will agree than Renner is a little high here but he is a 65% completion guy who takes care of the ball. He’s not spectacular, but rather consistently good.

8) 93 OVR - Jordan Lynch QB#6 - Northern Illinois - SR(RS)

There is no doubt that NIU’s successful season in 2013 was largely earned on the back of Jordan Lynch, who was statistically one of the best in the country. One of college football’s most exciting players should be nothing short of dominant against the Huskies schedule. Lynch’s 85 Speed rating will make him one of the most athletic players on the field while his 90 Throw Accuracy will leave MAC defenses without an answer for him.

9) 92 OVR - Derek Carr QB#4 - Fresno State - SR(RS)

Maybe another shocker to most people, but true college football fans have heard of Derek Carr before. He completed 67% of his passes last year and deservedly earned his 90 Throw Accuracy and 88 Awareness ratings.

10) 91 OVR - Taylor Martinez QB#3 - Nebraska - SR(RS)

Is it me or does it seem like Martinez is getting ready for his seventh year in college football? An explosive runner with home run potential is rightfully labeled with 88 Speed, 97 Acceleration and 86 Agility. Coming off his best season in 2012, Martinez also receives some generous passing attributes with 88 Throw Power and 82 Throw Accuracy.

11) 90 OVR - Marcus Mariota QB#8 - Oregon - SO(RS)

Very underrated here at #11 but its likely due to the 83 Awareness rating that keeps Mariota out of the top 8 of this list. Much like Manziel, there are a lot of qualities about Mariota that you can’t quantify. His athleticism is well represented with an 88 Speed and 91 Acceleration rating, but likely won’t be a great passer for those who start a dynasty with Oregon with 85 Throw Power and 87 Accuracy. However, he’s just a sophomore.

12) 90 OVR - Logan Thomas QB#3 - Virginia Tech - SR(RS)

Easily one of the most physical gifted prospects in this years QB draft class, Thomas is a very strong QB (80 Strength) who can get moving and get yards when he needs to (81 Speed, 85 Acceleration). His arm may even be underrated at a 92 Throw Power, he truly has a cannon on his shoulder. What will plague Logan in the game is also what he struggles with in real life. If he can put together the mental side of it all (80 Awareness)… look out!

13) 90 OVR - Casey Pachall QB#4 - TCU - SR(RS)

Casey came real close to not being in the game or on a roster this year after making bad off-field decisions. Perhaps it carries over into his mental ratings with an 81 Awareness rating, but there isn’t many doubts that Pachall is a proven winner. An 87 Throw Power and 89 Throw Accuracy rating should make him more than adequate in the game.

14) 90 OVR - Blake Bell QB#12 - Oklahoma - JR(RS)

The Belldozer is going to be plenty fun to play with thanks to NCAA 14′s new RTP system. He’s big and he’s strong (84 Strength) and he’ll be finding an A or B-gap near you. With an 87 Break Tackle and an 88 Trucking rating, Bell will bring new meaning to the QB dive when he puts DL on their back. Blake has a very good carry ratings for a QB at 84, and a very good arm rating at 92 Throw Power.

15) 90 OVR - Kain Colter QB#2 - Northwestern - SR

Colter actually ran for more yards than he threw for last year and that’s evident by his 86 Speed, 90 Acceleration and 86 Agility ratings. In NCAA 14, he will be one of the most dangerous in the open field with 85 Juke Move and 84 Elusiveness.

16) 90 OVR - Stephen Morris QB#17 - Miami - SR

Morris is likely rated too high here, but did really have a good showing towards the end of last year. His big problem has been consistency and shows in his 86 Throw Accuracy and 80 Awareness ratings. He is a good athlete and will be plenty of fun with Miami’s weapons around him.

17) 90 OVR - Joe Southwick QB#16 - Boise State - SR(RS)

The Broncos were faced with an uncharacteristic year last year with the loss of all-program great QB Kellen Moore and the impossible task of replacing him. Enter Southwick. After a rough start, the first year starter turned a corner at the end of the year.

18) 89 OVR - Taylor Kelly QB#10 - Arizona State - JR(RS)

Kelly is an emerging star in college football and has set the stage for a great year. A very good passer that may be even underrated with 87 Throw Power and 89 Throw Accuracy. He rounds out with moderate ratings for athleticism.

19) 89 OVR - Devin Gardner QB#12 - Michigan - SR

Gardner is the second fastest QB in the game with 90 Speed and has HB-esque Agility (90) and Elusiveness (86). Combine that with one of the strongest arms in the game with 92 Throw Power and you have an offense that can really stretch the field both laterally and vertically.

20) 89 OVR - David Fales QB#10 - San Jose State - SR(RS)

Another guy that a lot of you nose-grinding college football fans should be very familiar with. Fales was the third highest rated passer last year and is definitely on a lot of NFL teams early draft boards for next April’s (or is it May’s) draft. One of the best throwers in the game with 92 Throw Power and 89 Throw Accuracy, the Spartan may even be rated too low.

21) 89 OVR - Zach Mettenberger QB#8 - LSU - SR(RS)

LSU has always had incredibly talented players at QB and a slew of fantastic WRs, but the play between all of them only connects on that next level every few years. Mettenberger has the tools that will make him effective in the game (93 Throw Power, 85 Accuracy) and should stand tall in the pocket with a 66 Strength rating.

22) 89 OVR - Connor Shaw QB#14 - South Carolina - SR

Shaw had a really good year last year despite dealing with a nagging shoulder injury. The guy just finds a way to make plays. He’s very balanced in the game with 83 Speed, 85 Throw Power and 86 Throw Accuracy. South Carolina users are going to have to make a tough choice as Junior QB Dylan Thompson is also an 89 OVR.

23) 89 OVR - Jeff Driskel QB#6 - Florida - JR

It seems like forever ago when we were reading about Driskel being one of the most elite QB prospects in the nation. While he hasn’t necessarily lived up to it yet, you can definitely help him out in the game. Most people outside of Gainesville may think he is overrated here, but his physical tool set is too much for ratings formulas to ignore.

24) 89 OVR - Nathan Scheelhaase QB#2 - Illinois - SR(RS)

While Scheelhaase missed out on an opportunity to join the elite last year with a lackluster performance relative to his 2011 stats. He enjoys a great speed rating this year (85) and passing ratings that should allow him to be used in a variety of offensive schemes.

25) 89 OVR - Dylan Thompson QB#17 - South Carolina - JR(RS)

Most teams would love to have two QBs on their roster the caliber of Shaw and Thompson, there are some slight differences between the two that could allow some differentiating roles. Thompson enjoys a much stronger arm than shaw with an 87 Throw Power and 90 Throw Accuracy rating (tied for 4th best in the game), but is noticeably slower with only 75 Speed.
