Kasper Remember when I tried pointing out that Andy Dalton was a better QB than Cam Newton? Would you STILL take Newton over Dalton?

When do I get to throw Josh Freeman's name in the good young QB ring?

He should already be in there. He didn't have a reliable WR target before this year.

Cam still has a higher ceiling than just about any QB in the NFL. The problem is he also has a lower floor than guys like Dalton.

The jury is still out. Freeman is a perfect example of how you can bust on to the scene... take some lumps your second year... and battle back and be a great player in your 3rd year.

You know who else had a "high ceiling?" Jamarcus Russell.

Andrew Luck doesn't get enough credit for the kind of athlete he is. He basically graded out as the same athlete as Cam Newton at the combine. Luck's 40 time was slightly slower, but he had a better vertical and cone drill while Newton had a better broad jump.

Here is a gif of him running the 40 with RGIII and Newton. Sorry CoachRedd - he is even faster than Tebow, though I'm sure Tebow could lift much more than he could.

Tebow is a better pure athlete than all the young QBs except for RG3 who gets the slight nod.

EDIT: And what he has over RG3 is the ability to be basically a RB from the QB position. RG3 is too fragile to run inside like Tebow.

I think Cam (who's in the ugliest situation) will be a solid QB for years to come. Hopefully they get the kid some help out there on the edge. Seems like Steve has been doing it by his self forever. Murphy & Lafell aren't the successors to SS.

RG3 is no doubt the most athletic QB in the league. The QB position has evolved. The mold of Luck, Rodgers etc... are the future.
Tebow will never pan out.. The NFL would have to change as a business for his success. No team will ever invest QB#1 money into a guy who's going to take hits like Tebow. Because he really can't quarterback for 4 QTRs, 16+ games a year.

Cam has the talent, but every interview or press conference after a loss he sounds like he's on crack.

True, he needs some PR work. But actually watching him play in the NFL the kid is very talented, he just needs some help. I was the first to shit on Cam coming from college he didn't impress me in Auburn's offense. (transitioning to NFL) You being a ND fan, I actually thought Jimmy Clausen was the best pro-style QB coming out ahead of Sam Bradford and definitely ahead of Tebow etc... But he looked like utter poo in Carolina as did Matt Moore & Co. That's why I think Cam is in the worst situation of all the "young" QBs. Not since the early 2000's did Carolina have another WR threat aside from Steve Smith.
