FIFA 12 Tradition Futbol Leagues (TFL) Primer

The Tradition Fútbol League (TFL) is proud to announce the new league setup for the FIFA 12 game cycle on Xbox 360! The TFL started out as a 10-man league and have seen magnificent growth ever since. This year it has blown up to a 40-member league with people clamoring to get on the waiting list. For good reason, this is going to be one of the most well-structured and exciting leagues on the web!

During the FIFA 11 game cycle, the TFL utilized a tiered league format that involved a premier league and two sub-leagues (Premier League, League 1 and League 2). This year the TFL has altered the format to be more exciting and allow more people to take part in the fun. The new tiered system utilizes two premier leagues and two sub-leagues. Each premier league is directly tied to its own separate sub-league and promotion/relegation of teams is back this year, so there is plenty of incentive to start and finish the season strong. The top three teams from each sub-league (League 1 Black and League 1 Red) are promoted to their corresponding premier league (Premier League Black and Premier League Red, respectively). Consequently, the bottom three teams in each premier league will see their prestige slide as they will be relegated and forced to play in their respective sub-league.

The premier leagues will be host to some of the fiercest competition around, which might be incentive enough for most gamers. However, the top four performing teams from the season from each premier league will face off in group play, followed by a knockout tournament to crown a true TFL Champion. Deserving teams who missed out on the opportunity to earn a spot in the TFL Championship will be elated to hear that the TFL will offer a Europa League. This cup competition will be offered for eligible club teams within the TFL and will run concurrently with the TFL championship. This should give two solid events for teams to compete in even after the job or disappointment from the previous season.

Wait, there’s more! Possibly the biggest addition to this year’s league format is the TFL cup. This random draw, knockout style tournament will include every single club in the TFL, regardless of standing and will run concurrently during the TFL season.

The TFL is headed up by commissioner The Richuation. For more information regarding league specific rules, you can read up HERE. The Tradition Fútbol Serie (TFS) is the PS3 equivalent and has a more linear, simple structure. RedAL925 serves as the commissioner for TFS and more information about this league can be found HERE.
