Unless there is a direct relationship between FIFA and FM player databases (which I doubt) I will not even try to merge those two together. Plus real life values may not really make much sense for our situation for a few reason.
Transfer Planning Tool is updated. You can start practicing for the new season. I will announce more about what happens to rosters and drafting for current clubs and expansion clubs. We will most likely start with a $370M budget but I will force you to leave at least $10M after you spend it on players. The less you spend on your team, you will have a better chance to make more money with the remaining budget during the season to improve your squad. So there is no value cap really. If you end up making a whole bunch of money you can end up with Barcelona. Hopefully this will also open up transfers between clubs. There will be quite a bit of a contract penalty for releasing a contracted player to transfer another from the free agents but no penalty if you are releasing him to replace him for a transfer you made from another club. Just giving heads up, I will post all the shit properly when I have everything in place. Now that pricing and the tool is ready, my next target is to allow you to do the draft online on the site, without having to post here and wait and all. You will see that you can browse players by team or name when you're playing around with the tool. Just click the ? next to the players. I want to implement similar thing to give you access to your clubs. One thing I will force is that you can not have players with a value less than $10M. We are elite clubs here at TFTL you know.
Update: I've done some work on this yesterday. Re-adjusted player values. If you any of you guys are not lazy, take a peek at some values in your or others' teams to hopefully agree with most. With formulas based on attributes, it's really hard to get everyone an accurate value so there will be odd ones here and there, or almost everywhere I think we will keep our current rosters. Some guys' teams are worth less than others. I will give some funds to start the new season to each team, and based on total team value, some guys may get more money to start with than others to be able to improve their team. Everyone will have to drop two players from their current 20 player roster. This will also create additional funds based on which player you decide to drop. I am hoping to implement a custom player value (it's a little more work but I think it will be worth it) for those players who enter the league pool once. When you are releasing a player (not the initial two that is mandatory), you will only get back 75% of his value. That player will fall into league free agents pool (rather than the whole player database). If anyone else wants to sign that player, they will have to pay 125% of it's regular value. I will have something called "Transfer List" where you can add players from your roster with an asking price. This way if you list your player for a price range of 75% to 125% before you release him, and if another club is interested, both clubs can benefit from the transaction, and transfers between clubs will be more active. You will earn money from playing games. It won't be a fixed value. At the end of the season, it should be enough to cover money that you could lose from releasing a few players for 75% of their values and resigning new ones to make improvements to your team. If you're lucky, you made a little more money to get better players than you already have. I have plans of adjusting the chance of making more money per game based on the value of your bench. I'll try to implement something where the lower valued bench player you play extra for that game, you have more chance of earning more. Also trying to figure out having 2 budgets, one that involves everything I've been talking about. And then a seperate one that can serve as additional funds to spend only towards between clubs transfers. You will earn more money in this section of funds, and when you pay another club through this, it will go to their transfer budget section. This would also encourage offering more money for players you want, and it'll be useful money for the receiving end towards other players they may be interested from other clubs.
You picked a bad time to tell me not to be lazy I won't be on the computer much this weekend unfortunately. I'll try and check it out Sunday night/Monday if I get a chance.
It's not that urgent. It was just something you guys can do when you get a chance. It's not like things will be finalized this weekend.
Not exactly. It's more like your money is already spent on the players in your current squad, and you'll have a few million sitting as extra in the bank. But you can make funds available by releasing players and sign new ones.
