Games officially under way, figured there'd be some discussion to be had. Poland looks good 15 minutes into game 1, but maybe Greece's team is as bad as their economy 1-0 Poland
Greece look pretty bad. Their defense is all over the place but credit the poles for putting the necessary pressure on them early on
thats absolutely true, i picked greece to move on based on their 5 goals against in 10 games in qualifying, but now watching them for the first time, i can't imagine how they only gave up 5 goals. poland is tearing them apart
this game went nuts quickly, i don't think this ends tied after all this...but they could both accept whats happened and not push
13 minutes left, lots of open field. I see Poland getting scared by both of those near misses and pouring it on.
Couldn't believe the ref gave that second yellow after the softest yellow card ever, really going to hinder Greece's chances now.
Portugal - Denmark....WHAT a game!!! and Ronaldo better be Varela's bitch from now on for saving his ass from getting murdered in the press after missing those two 1-on-1s.
Was pulling hard for the Danes - Agger (Liverpool) and Kvist (Stuttgart) are my boys! Germany better not take them lightly! If this afternoon is half as entertaining, this will be a great day.
i'd love to see this group at 3 points everywhere going into the last day...but seriously, christiano ronaldo...i thought i was watching torres for a second, but i'm not even sure he'd miss a breakaway by that much
Ronaldo seriously looked awful in that game, it was seriously painful watching how many missed opportunities he had.
how long was that? just over 20 games with the endline official before missing a call? well done fifa
If that had screwed France instead of saving their ass Platini would have taken action, but not anymore...
for whatever its worth, it wouldn't have actually changed anything if the game had ended 1-1...clearly not a certainty, the game could have played out differently, but standings would have finished with France and Ukraine tied with 4 points for second place in the group, and France still would have moved on based on the head to head result. but, then theres this:
At this point, I think it's now just a matter of time before goalline tech is in. After non-goals in two consecutive major international tourneys they need it. And considering American sports at times tried to put off integrating tech (baseball for example), I think that just kinda shows that people eventually give into using tech to make the game more fair
You wanna make the game fair? There's more important stuff before goal line technology. How many occasions of goal line decisions need to be so precise? Once every 100 games? There are defnitily more than one minute wasted every 90 minutes (every game with some one happy with the current score) with people actin like they need to be taken to ER and cause the game to pause for no reason, then walk up like nothing is wrong as soon as they are off the field. I've been hit in the face/head very heavily and many times. I know that 9 out of 10 times there is no good reason for those guys to fall where they are like they've been shot. Even if they were shot, I bet they could walk off the field if their life depended on it. Everyone is just taking advantage of the stupid "let's take no risks about injuries" shit. They should resolve that first before some fancy technology you can't have in every game around the world.
