Ok. Damn I am a retard. That's probably half my problem...I bet that in using the left stick to position my players it is affecting how I am aiming (or should I say mis-aiming) my shots on these corner headers.

GK Felipe 10.0 - 10 Saves... kept up his brilliant goalkeeping this season.

Very enjoyable game to watch and play. Flamengo got very lucky in this one as Villa dominated the flow of play throughout the contest regardless of what the possession stats say. I was an idiot and figured I was out of the tourney and parked the bus in the 2nd half and prevented any shot that I had at advancing. What are ya gonna do? :) Got really lucky on two corners that I completely pulled out of my ass so I didn't deserve to move on regardless. Fun game Zikry, was fun playing a game of two fields rather than dodging bullets all game :) Best of luck the rest of the way. Beshiktas.... sorry I couldn't give you a better run but you destroyed me anyways!

Wow Palermo's best offensive output in a long time. The victory was bitter sweet as Palermo needed to win by two to possibly advance to the knockout stage. They held a 2-0 and 3-1 advantage when their strong defense wilted under the pressure and yielded a heart breaking goal in the 81st minute. Palermo fought hard til the end but ultimately fell a little short.
Great game Broncos218 and good luck the rest of the way.
I'd also like to thank the gentlemen that responded to my plea for help with all the great tips, in particular jb_banco and hokie79. Thanks I have renewed hope for the future.

Truly a great game. I was really playing my best, and my personal goal entering the game was to make sure I'd get a clean sheet- scratch that! You were really capitalizing on all of your opportunities. But definitely an interesting game considering you went from advancing w/ 30 min left to knocked out, to advancing again, to finally being knocked out. But in the end, i'm sure jb_banco is relieved! Also, just a sidenote, junuzovic got the other assist for me.

In form Stades Rennes defeats VFL Wolfsburg in the third match of Group B. It was a must win match for the visiting side, to have control of their destiny. Rennes attacked from the beginning, but it was VFL Wolfsburg who had the first clear open shot, as an open netter was clanked of the post, while Costil was found out of position. The opportunity would not come again, as Rennes took control of the match, as they made Wolfsburg GK earn his pay today. Benaglio made save after save, as Pitropia ran rampant of the left flank. Finally Benaglio was found beaten as he tried to close down Pitropia, who found a streaking Montano for a wide open tap in. Pitropia once again creates havoc in the Wolfsburg Defense as he is taken down in the box. Montano cooly puts the PK away and the visiting side moves on to the knock out round.

That's the irony. His tips (as well as hokie79's) were a huge reason that my offense improved so the silver lining in my loss is that I didn't knock him out. I edited the stats post to include an assist for Junuzovic.

Galatasaray Rebounds for First Win of Group Play
Galatasaray jumped out to the quick lead when Milan Baros turned back the clock and flashed his old form with a deft turn and lefty shot that beat the Sunderland keeper. Felipe Melo was johnny on the spot for a rebound to make it a 2-goal lead and the home fans were feeling good, up 2-0, in the opening third of the match. But Sunderland turned up the pressure and the mid-table Serie A side began flexing its muscle over the floundering, last-place Serie B Turks. Bendter fired a perfectly-placed shot to cut the deficit in half before the break. Fernando Mulsera was called upon time after time in the 2nd half as he racked up 8 saves on the day trying to hold onto the lead. But Bendter was too much and he equalised the match in the 53rd minute.

On their heels but with little to gain from a draw in the group finale, Galatasaray bided their time before surging forward in attack. In their first scoring chance in dozens of a minutes, a well-flicked ball that was headed for the end line found a wide-open Baros who made his first shot in over an hour count. Match-winner, 3-2. Big win for Galatasaray which gives them 4 points in the group and a fighter's chance to advance.

    Please post match results here

OPEN: Wednesday, April 25 @ 9 am ET
CLOSE: Wednesday, May 2 @ midnight PT

IMPORTANT REMINDERS: Home team listed first. For knockout stage matches, use the following scheduling procedure so that the Extra Time/Penalties option can be selected post-game in the event of a draw:
Online Modes > Custom Games > Match Lobbies > (Meet your opponent in a match lobby)
    -Half Length = 10 Mins
    -Controls = Semi-Assisted
    -Game Speed = Normal
Squads are automatically set to Custom and should have your pre-set lineups. Make sure your roster is up to date with the latest online roster release. Anyone found using illegal rosters will be severely punished.
Do NOT use Online Friendlies to invite an opponent to a match, as that mode does not allow ET/pens.

EVrytime Wolves looked like they had taken control, Santos fought back. An 83' equalizer and another in the 117' sent this game to PKs in which the Wolves were able to prevail. Doyle thought he had the sure winner in regulation as Wolves were controlling play and he was able to put one in from distance. Borges answered nearly immediately with a clever move in the box. Remained 1-1 into the second session of extra-time and Ebanks-Blake thought it was surely over has he connected on a half volley off a cross and in in the 109'. But again, Santos fought even. The substitue Ibson took advantage of poor defense and slotted one past Hennessey to force Pks.

Wolves continue their trend in cup play by scraping by every stage. They have reached the Semis and Finals the last 2 seasons, will their luck finally run out this time around?

Crazy game. Scored an equalizer in the 89th minute to send it to extra time which saw me take a 3-1 lead in the first half of ET with two goals in the first five minutes of ET, only to see the match leveled again before the first half of ET was finished. Finally won the match with two goals two minutes apart in the last four minutes of ET. HokieNYC great game.

87th Minute Corner Leads To Game-Deciding Goal
In a Serie A vs. C match, Werder Bremen were the heavy favorites entering the match. Werder would start strong against Wolfsburg, but couldn't find the net. Instead, Bremen found themselves hitting the post and missing wide early on. Perhaps the most shocking miss was just 2 minutes in, when a wide-open Claudio Pizarro took in a cross and hit it off the post, despite having an open net in front of him. However, Bremen would soon collect themselves as the match went on. In the 36th minute, Bremen finally broke through with Aaron Hunt scoring the game's opening goal. But then just before the half, Wolfsburg came threatening back. Werder was waiting for the whistle to blow, but were unable to clear the ball out of their own box for minutes. Wolfsburg finally capitalized on the opportunity, with Hitzlsperger leveling the match. After an uneventful second half, the two teams had entered a stalemate and were headed for extra time. But then with only a few minutes remaining, Bremen won a crucial corner kick. Marin launched the ball in, and the 6'6'' Brazilian defender Naldo headed the ball across the goal and barely into the bottom corner, granting Bremen a vital 2-1 late lead. Werder were then able to hang on for the final minutes and will now be advancing to the Quarterfinals of the Coppa Tradizione.

gg LasVegasFC, well played, even game that was decided on a brutal late corner header

    Aston Villa 2 (1) - 2 (3) B. M'Gladbach

After drawing at the end of regulation 2-2, neither teams could find the back of the net in extra time, sending the round of 16 match to Penalty Kicks. M'Gladbach would come out on top, netting 3 of their first 4 and shutting down Villa to only 1 of 4, securing the win for the Germans.

Unfortunately, I don't have any stats, including any yellow's issued to Villa. As soon as the game ended, it said we lost connection. Zikry signed off as soon as that happened. I don't know what happened, but regardless, I am without stats and cards. RedAL925
