Just loaded up at the store for supply back home... La fin du Monde Duvel Wolverine Brewing Company Winter Ale Frankenmuth Brewing Hefeweizen Amongst other Michigan crafts which I will post as I try them. The Wolverine Brewing company will be my beer tonight with all this snow up here...
Picked this up to drink when I was in the Burgh over the weekend. Pretty decent. A lot of the clove flavor and a little bubblegum from the yeast.
Shaun Mason -- get this you will love it. It's kind of bitter, has a decent amount of hops. Coppery in color, light champaign like head. You smell the floral hoppy like aroma. But there's like a moldy pine smell too. Like dampness. Light on the tongue, finishes crisp. A nice winter warmer. 7% APV
My haul from Jungle Jims yesterday. The 21st Amendment Sneak Attack saison was exactly what they say it is. Has that brett funk taste and cardamom.
That Jungle Jims store had each year of the Vertical Epic series for sale except the 01 and 02. If I was a rich man I would of grabbed every year.
Just found out that the Kroger by my work has a make your own 6 pack, and that there is a liquor store right down the road too. I'll hopefully be finding some better stuff here soon.
I broke out the Trappistes Rochefort 10. Appearance - Pours almost black with a a finger of tan head. I have a feeling this bottle has aged a bit, not much carbonation. Smell - Very yeasty, and smells like a raisin tastes, with some alcohol undertones (its > 11%). Kind of like molasses. Taste - For being such a strong beer, it is amazingly smooth. It is so balanced it is hard to distinguish any of the typical beer tastes (hops, malt), it's almost like a port. Mouthfeel - Smooth with nice body, very "creamy". Overall - At over $5 a bottle here, I wouldn't buy a six pack obviously. It is a very interesting and good beer, but is more of a special occassion type drink. 4.25/5
A lot of great beers there. That's Belgian Quads for you. Very little head and carbonation because of the alcohol and almost no hops at all. Really like quads but the Belgians doubles are more of my style for Belgians. A little less alcohol presences and more dark fruit flavors. I'd put the doubles in my Top 3 favorite styles.
Friend had me download the Untappd app the other night. Thought I saw some guys on here talking about it or an app for their phone. If you want to add me, my name on their is JohnnyClutch.
Like Pintley???? In Hoover, AL today... They had Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen on tap at the place I went for dinner!! I promptly had 6-7 pints and am currently enjoying my Hampton Inn stay...
Haha, nice. Still haven't had that on tap but want to try it so bad. Yeah, Pintley. I couldn't remember the name of that app at all when I was telling my friend I had already signed up for some beer app.
You search and rate the beers you drink. Share this info with friends. Untappd also lets you locate nearby bars and breweries. Also shows some beers that they have at nearby places. Also has trending beers.
Little place down here called Country Boy Brewing Co that shares a lot of craft beers from the region. They have 24 delicious beers on tap. Here is half their menu. They have another half of the menu that is larger market crafts, but I had the Nitro Porter lastnight and loved it (#12). I've had the west 6th (another Lexington brewery) IPA at another restraunt, and its okay but not worth the $$. I noticed the goose island on here but was curious if you guys have seen any of the other beers in your locale?
