TCCT : All the dirty details on how it’s going to work

For the 2012 season of The Tradition Tour we will implement a Pro-Am style tournaments.
We will use a fairly simplified handicap system. How it will work : beginning with The Players Championship every tournament we play we’ll use the scores for 2 scoreboards. The first one will be the regular straight up scores, the second will involve handicaps.

There will be no Pro-Ams at The Masters and the PGA Championship however:

The winner of the US Open Pro-Am will be named US Amateur Champion
The winner of The Open Championship will be named Amateur Champion Golfer of the year
The winner of The Bing Crosby National will be named National Pro-Am Champion

(if you guys are nice to RynoAid ,maybe he will create some trophies and sigs)

Definitions and rules

Handicap : player’s average score recorded in official tournaments, compared to par. will be calculated by the formula handicap=average_player_score - 72
Netscore: individual scores calculated by netscore=round_score - handicap
TCCT Tournament : any tournament on the TCCT schedule, where points towards the TCCT Cup are awarded and no handicap is involved.
TCCT Pro-Am : the results from the TCCT tournaments, but with scoreboards calculated by Netscore.
Average Player Score(APC) : average score per round for each player
Tour Average Score(TAC) : average score for the tour per round.TAC may be adjusted in time,as players who no longer play will be removed from calculations. It will also only include players with established handicaps (minimum of 8 rounds).

Handicap Rules

1.Minimum of 8 official rounds need to be completed for establishing of a handicap.
2.Only the last 16 rounds will be used for calculating golfer’s handicap.
3.All players handicaps will be recalculated after the conclusion of every tournament (except match play)
4.Unless major game play settings are made, the established handicaps will be rolled over in future seasons of the tour.

Pro-AM Eligibility and Exclusions

The following players will be excluded from participating in the Pro-Am Tournaments and their scores will only count in the TCCT Tournaments:

1.TCCT Tournament winners (exclusion will be in effect for the entire season).Pro-Am Champions still going to be eligible for participating in future Pro-Am events
2.The Top 20% of the players in the TCCT Cup Standings.Eligibility will be determined before the start of every tournament.
3.Any player with a APC of 6+ strokes better than the TAC.Eligibility will be determined before the start of every tournament.
4.Rules 2&3 may be adjusted during the season

Please Note:
We are going out of our way and creating extra work for ourselves, so the more inexperienced Tiger Woods players have a chance to compete!!! It will be fairly easy for us to spot any sandbagging and other shenanigans, so please do not try to abuse the handicap system!!! As mentioned many times before,if winning at any cost is what you are looking for you do not belong on this Tour and in this community.
