Heads up to those making transfers.... You get 1 free transfer every week (which rolls over to the next week if you don't use it; however the maximum number of free transfers you will ever have in any given week is 2) Every additional transfer will subtract 4 points from your following gameweek total. EDIT: You also get ONE wildcard which you can use at anytime. By playing the wildcard you can make as many transfers as you want without having points deducted from your total.
Well, I wanted to actually rid myself of a DIFFERENT player..... I used my free transfer too soon this week... tried to catch a price rise (and did so), but now will lose some points, maybe 8 this week
I know all this (from last year)... but used my FT already this week. Now I want to rid myself of Tonev - who by the Totalfpl.com site is going to drop in value tonight.... and pick up another MID. Now Anelka needs to get off my team too. I could always bench him, but I can see him dropping in price by this weekend too with the news...
I lost 8 myself, but it's too early IMO to play the wildcard and an 8 point hit in the beginning of the season isn't too bad.
I wasn't directing this to you. If I was then I would have tagged you I just remember someone last season going crazy with transfers (I think it was BESH) and they lost a shit load of points.
After getting Cole for the double game week I booted him and brought on Coleman to catch his 0.1 point rise (also cheaper at 5.0). I have 2.5 in the bank. Wanted to go Tonev --> Nolan (as Tonev will fall tonight, Nolan rise probably)... thats a 5.5 to 7.0, leaving me 0.5 left. Now Anelka needsto go... but hes only 5.5. cant see any STR that are 6.0 and under worth bringing on. I hope that he can just stay put price-wise until Saturday so I can get him out then for free. Kind of puts a wrench in my plan though.... Wanted to get Cech out in week 3 for a cheap 4.5-5.0 Goalie and free up even more cash to bring in Soldado to have RVP-Benteke-Soldado front line. (I just gave away my strategy... haha)
Wiemann starts every game that he is fit and is 6.0; however with Benteke already I wouldn't think you would want 2 Villa strikers. You could go down a notch and take Gayle at 5.0, the young striker at Crystal Palace, but I don't think he's fantasy start worthy at the moment. Other strikers at 6.0 or less that seem to have a starting spot on their teams include: Frazier Campbell (already has some Premier League experience plus seems to be the #1 choice at Cardiff) Peter Crouch (started against Liverpool and seems to have won the position over Kenwyne Jones) No one else seems worth it.
Scott Sinclair moving to Brom.... wonder if hes worth a punt.... With Anelka gone, he has to get some decent time. That would mean I do Tonev --> Sinclair Then I have enough cash to do Anelka --> van Wolfswinkel I think I may like that better.
The midfield options this season are ridiculous. So many good players to choose from it took me forever to pick the 5 I wanted. Ross Barkley looks like a player too and at 4.6 right now is still a steal as a starting midfielder for Everton.
Hes on borrowed time... hes going to lose playing time when Everton get healthy. But agree about MID. I was going to get Joe Cole, but of course his price already jumped.... I hate missing those 0.1 price rises, late in the season they are the BEST to have, I try and get a team value of 102+
Well, I made the move... Took an 8 point hit and brought in Barkley and Lambert while dropping Tonev and Anelka. At least I like how my team looks now!
Completely forgot about Champions League. Will create a group when I get back and let you all know the information needed to join it. Games start tomorrow!
