Also sgibs FWIW, I do appreciate your work and have watched a good deal of your videos. My criticism of this post wasn't directed at you per se; more just general frustration about the coverages and QBA in this game. I know a good deal about coverages, and would love to link up with you at some point for a game or a chat (or even an email). Let me know.
So sgibs aside of scheme / coverage suggestions what is the #1 "stick skill" you would suggest learning on defense ? Line moves , ball hawk , jamming WR manually at line , anything you would suggest to somebody who struggles ?
learning to take tendencies away from your opponent. anticipation of the next move and the understanding of situational football. the how and when someone will attack you and then LOCK IT DOWN
Typically a "nano" blitz is created by calling a defensive play and then manipulating individual defenders by re-positioning them along the defensive line and/or changing multiple individual assignments in conjunction with the player movement pre-snap. If a team does said manipulations effectively, the defenders can get instant penetration through the offensive line untouched. I can only assume that the practice was dubbed "nano" blitz by the speed of which the defenders can penetrate the offensive line if done correctly. When playing "sim" ball, taking advantage of the CPU AI is not allowed as it defeats the purpose of why we play (strategy). What we saw on the video was not a "nano" blitz since there wasn't any manipulation of the defense pre-snap. It was just a defensive play call straight-up, and therefore, good strategy.
I should also add that when playing "sim" ball defensive line shifts (left/right/pinch/spread), LB shifts (left/right/pinch/spread), and press or man align audibles are not considered to be manipulating the AI.
