Cincinnati Reds select CL Marvin Leach. Leach is most likely one of the oldest players in the draft at 23, but his ratings have him almost ready for the bigs. With him being very well developed as is, if he reaches his potentials Leach should be a dominate closer for years to come with the 100mph fastball and filthy curve. Marvin's personality traits fit what we like our players to have as well.

With Colorado's 2nd round pick they select SP Gil "Swan" Barnard. Barnard is a nice young pitcher that will more than likely be a reliever for his career as he has low stamina but he will be a nice addition to the bullpen when he progresses.

The Rangers select MR Mark Carr with their 2nd round pick. We needed another lefty arm to add to a farm system dominated by righties. He projects to be a good setup guy or possibly a closer in the future for us and should be ready within the next few seasons given his high intelligence and work ethic.

The Braves selected OF Michael Jordan with their supplemental pick in the first round, because who wouldn't want a guy named Michael Jordan? He was one of the best contact bats left and has good range in the field, but is about as noodle armed as Jeter. Probably will never be more than a 4th OF unless he makes the move to 1B or 2B.

With the 4th pick in the MLB draft, the Oakland A's selected:

There was a lot of debate in the Oakland war room between him, Irwin the C, and the young SS Lewis. With Brewer off the board, the A's wanted to go with the college bat, due to the advanced nature of his bat and the fact that he can play SS and 2B, and if needed a solid 3B. The A's are hoping he progresses through their system quickly - hopefully a September call up in 2031 wouldn't be too far fetched. The A's have a solid group of young pitching, and a few solid bats to help players like David Ennis and Walt Buckley would be great. Since his defense is close to Major league ready, the A's are hoping this is his SS of the future.

With their second round pick, the Oakland A's select Dave Gill - Closer

There were two guys on the A's list when their pick was up - Dave Gill and Mark Rucker. Mark Rucker went the pick before which made the A's choice that much easier. Gill has electric stuff and a groundball percentage that is simply fantastic (73%).

If his control can improve just slightly along with his stuff - he could be the first player from this year's draft in the pros.

When your draftee looks like Ron Swanson, that can't be a bad thing.

Also - I figured out how to use snagit. Look out.

Tribe selected all or nothing shortstop Kirby Harmon. He's got a great glove, but has a hard time making contact. However, when he does you better have brought your glove to the ballpark!

Angels select SP Luther "Demon" Bennett of Port Charlotte High School in Florida. Bennett possesses 5 potential + pitches, including a nasty 12-6 hook. Bennett has great intangibles, but will have to overcome a 5'10/170 lb frame in order to be successful on the major league level.

Guess we'll settle for two-way high school sensation SS Calvin Stubbe. Stubbe hit .494/.578/.911 while also starting 10 gms going 5-2 with an era of 1.01. Young talent with a lot of potential but his intangibles could make him a diamond in the rough.

With the 50th pick in the 2030 amateur draft the Boston Red Sox select

Boston went in with the philosophy of best player available and when Boston saw the hometown kid, from Brookline and then went on to star at Boston College posting a 10-3 record, the Red Sox made the choice to keep the hometown kid at home. Paul Spencer comes in with a decent repertoire and intense movement to his pitches, relying on the ground ball but in 113 innings posted 104 Ks, which makes the 6'0 right handed hurler attractive to the Red Sox. Spencer is a leader above anyone else, his heart and determination is what makes him as good as he is. Spencer spends extra time working with his teammates on there games to help them improve. He's the kind of kid that you just love to have on your team and to be able to keep him in his hometown team makes it even sweeter for the Red Sox.

Paul "The Beast" Spencer looks to be a solid number 3-5 starter if he develops as expected.

    Ryty You're up.
