Clay is really young, but he projects to be a solid starter in the future. A lot is going to change from now to when he is ready for play, his amount of average-quality pitches is interesting to see. I would like to see a third pitch of his take a step forward in terms of potential, but we will see what happens.

Detroit picks SP Bailey. Bailey struck out 210 batters his senior season in Texas HS baseball in 101 IP (k/9 = 18.6). I'm not good at math, but good luck making contact if that trend continues. Great personality traits. Will be super star baring any injuries.

The Oakland A's have drafted Dalton Hancock.

Dalton has three 70 potential rating pitches to go along with one of the best makeups in the draft. Hancock needs to improve his control, but if he gets it to its potential - it will be fine, but with his work ethic, we think he can get there.

Great pick, I was taking him at 14 if he was still around.

Bailey was a guy I liked at 8....that could be the kiss of death though.

Astros take CF Jim Sorensen, young CF with good speed and bat. Hopefully with the speed and nice range already, he will also turn into a great defensive player.

Didn't like how young he is with the abundant amount of injuries that take place in ootp. We'll see

Rangers select SP Tyler "Ice" Fields with the #17 pick. Fields is a southpaw with a wicked changeup and has shown a high work ethic in his young career. With lefty arms few and far between in the Rangers system, we felt like we had to nab this guy despite there being some intriguing bat specs out there.

With the 22nd pick in the first round the Boston Red Sox select LF Josh Hoff



Hoff comes from Florida and hitting outfielder looks to be able to play both outfield corner spots. We are hoping to see his defense improve but love his switch hitting ability. Hoff comes in pricey at 7 million to sign but appears to be worth it with an OBP over .400 and have the ability to crush the ball if he develops as he is expected too. Hoff will provide some solid power along with Luis Alvarez and Hanus Sekeras in the years to come. Boston saw the ability to take a difference making bat and it appears pitching is very deep this year felt we could wait on taking a pitcher until later.

Just when we were excited about the prospect of Hoff's bat only, he gets even better.



That's right, he can pitch too and can pitch extremely well with 4 solid pitches. We have been thru this before with Hanus Sekeras and we will stick with the same philosophy of pitching and hitting. He will get that chance at both and see where he is able to thrive better.

Rumors are swirling that the Tribe had all but promised Jose Durango that he would be selected until a TMZ Sports story broke that Jose had recently flooded females of the Indians PR department's inbox with pictures displaying why his nickname is "Tripod."
