I've literally heard nothing about this, or about his contract status, transfer status, offers... nothing. He's under contract through the end of this season (through the end of 2014), so if he wants to leave in the winter window I suppose that's possible? But there's no chance, barring some outrageous transfer fee or however MLS works that stuff out that Seattle is going to let him go in season, he's a border-line league MVP.
Almost $2mil, 8th highest in the league. I'm not saying it can't happen, he's a bit of a nomad. I just haven't heard anything from any of the Seattle types I follow or google searches or twitter searches or... lol
yeah 18+3 in variables + Denis Suarez for 2 years. I like it. Next is Bravo and maybe Reus or Higuain.
BESHIKTAS Ok, now you have my attention... http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/...-seattles-martins-be-on-the-move-to-besiktas/
Haven't heard anything about this. No one is talking about him signing for Besiktas. These days biggest rumor ( maybe bigger than a rumor) Fulham's Mitroglou is about to join Besiktas on loan for a year. Oh by the way, JJ won't be coming back to us. His performance was not very good nor promising enough. It would be a good signing though, if that happens. He is like older Emenike IMO.
I can't see that happening for two reasons. 1) he hated his time at Bayern. Club managing and national team managing are two completely different animals, where one is long-term and the other is week to week. It's like being a movie actor vs. a soap opera star. 2). he's getting paid a shit ton through 2018 regardless of how we perform over the next week. But I've been wrong before.
I hope he signs Galatasaray too. I personally think he wouldn't be successful which means less competition for Besiktas. That's my point of view.
More than likely these transfers are done for Besiktas ; 1- Mitroglou from Fulham ( loan for a year, too expensive to buy.Fulham don't want to pay his 2.5 million salary, since they got relegated. 2- Moledo from Metalist Kharkiv Ukraine. A decent Brazilian CB 3- Lanzini from a River Plate. 21 years old promising playmaker. 4- Cenk Tosun who is a national team player 22 years old already signed a contract. 5- Motta , trying to make a new deal with his team who was on loan at Besiktas last season, Almeida out, Manual Fernandes out to Lokomotiv Moscow , Jermaine Jones , not gonna offer him a new contract ,
Even after this World Cup, Beshiktas isn't going to try to keep Jones? I suspect he's going to get a number of calls from the Bundesliga.
I highly doubt it. He just didn't adjust well. Another thing is Teams can only have 5 foreign players on the field and 3 on the bench in Turkey. We already have too many. We are trying to get rid of at least 4 of them, so we can transfer those players I mentioned on top.
