Ryno, I was referring to this in the New Members Lounge rules: "D.3.0 - Defensive Playcalling: Please call realistic defensive plays for the proper situation. Use a 4 or 5 DL set to stop the run and a 3 or 4 DL set to play the pass. There are formations in these games that allow for unrealistic results. Using the 3-3-5 or 1-5-5 to stop the run, however effective it may be, will not be tolerated. There are OL AI problems with these formations that make them super-effective against heavy run sets." My understanding was that use of the 1-5-5 defense was not allowed based on this, maybe I'm mistaken? BTW - if you were being sarcastic I apologize for missing it.
I've just played two TF users who ran the option exclusively. IMO its' not cheese but its' very hard to stop without gameplanning. Like I stated to one user, I could stop it if I cheese (seasoned tournement player) but that would go against the mixin' up the playcallin' rule. It's kind of confusing because them running basically the same play (no matter who they give it to) goes against that rule in a way. I really don't have a problem with it but I'd like to see 'gameplanning' features allowed in those type of situations. It's just kind of garbage that their QB and FB were getting all the yards.
I know that the OP is talking about a shotgun speed option plahy and everyone else is discussing the singleback double tight option but none of these "cheese" claims and remarks go against the fleXbox One running with the QB and FB right?
whats so ironic. I found a play that can stop it...in a non TF dynasty I played in, whenever this certain user was down, in short yardage or by the goalline he would use the single-back option. The only play to stop it is based out of the 1-5-5...lol so if the 1-5-5 is banned, the option play should be as well. Otherwise, its way too easy for a qb to gain yards when there is 6 offensive blockers against 3 or 4 defensive lineman. Unless there are rules about abusing it... But, who determines the degree to which using it is cheese...At some point it becomes cheese if its abused but unless somebody records an entire game by video, How can someone prove that another player is abusing it?
For me, sim means "do I or don't I see this in the real game?" No one runs the Speed Option on the majority of downs. However, there are teams that run it fairly often. Now, the same play from the same set over and over - that's out of bounds. If you like running out of the shotgun, mix up some read option and straight HB runs, and mix up the formations. Then, you'll be fine. But any repetitive use of a single play - that does qualify as cheese.
