Rankings for Cream of the Crop in NCAA 11

Member tuco418 has put together his rankings over 15 seasons for the premier dynasty the Cream of the Crop in NCAA 11. He used the following criteria for his rankings system:

BCS Title - 4 points
BCS Title Game Appearance - 3 points
Conference Title - 2 points
Division Title - 1 point

*Conferences without a division format gave a division point to the league runner-up

**Only current users with more than three seasons played were considered

The results were then tallied up:

1. RUNTHEPOUND- 83 points
Any doubt who would be first? Pounder has quite frankly dominated the Crop and won five of the last seven BCS titles, all done so from the far-and-away best conference in the country. Even the EA BSC computers have mad respect for RTP, letting him the title game with a couple of two loss teams. Maybe the most impressive feat was his first title at North Carolina, where he did it with a B-grade team. Run’s teams are larcenous on defense, forcing multiple turnovers with his badass stick-hit skills. Offensively, he is pass-heavy (btw, his name be “passthepound”) and rarely makes mistakes.
Stat Line
BCS titles: six
Title game appearances: eight
Conference titles: eleven
Division titles: 13
Comparable Real Life Coach: Nick Saban- like Saban, Pounder has won titles at two different schools and built his current team into a monster.

2. JFUNK- 51 points
Since way back in the early summer of 2010 when Croppers decided what team they wanted to roll with for ’11, Funk has not changed course. He has the Tide annually in the national championship discussion and recruits like a mother. The two year back-to-back run in 2015 and 2016 were arguably the best teams in Crop history. His teams have a powerful defense and a balanced offense attack, mixing in option and a deadly ability to strike with a deep passing game. If Funk were in a different conference than RTP, a Georgia- Bama BCS title game would likely be an annual occurance.
Stat Line
BCS titles: four
Title game appearances: four
Conference titles: five
Division titles: 13
Comparable Real Life Coach: Joe Paterno- Funk has been with the Tide for 15 seasons and it seems unimaginable for him to be anywhere else. He, like JoePa, has multiple titles but has fallen short of prior success recently.

3. MIZZOURAH- 35 points
Even considering the success of the higher ranked SEC powers in Georgia and Bama, perhaps no user has pulled off a more impressive feat that Coach Mizzourah. Mizzourah took his alma mater from an average team (B grade in the early seasons) and made them a national power. The Tigers have won an incredible 12 straight Big XII South division titles, six league titles and a BCS title. Coach Mizzourah’s teams rack up the points with a balanced attack and is as prolific as any on that side of the ball.
Stat Line
BCS titles: one
Title game appearances: two
Conference titles: six
Division titles: 13
Comparable Real Life Coach: Jim Tressel- He owns his conference and has a national championship ring. Like Tressel, Mizzourah’s BCS title is a bit tainted. Mizzourah had an interim coach fill in for him for the title game win while Tressel’s was stained by a horseshit pass interference call in the 2002 title game.

4. TUCO- 31 points
For Coach Tuco, it always been a case of almost. While spending his first eight seasons at Oklahoma, the Sooners were a national power and won six Big XII championships. But every season national title hopes was derailed by late season losses, usually non-conference. There were two near title misses in Norman, losing the title game in 2017 and being snubbed for a title game bid in 2012 in favor of Central Michigan. In 2018, Coach Tuco took his dream job in South Bend and after two average seasons, the Irish have made three trips to the title game in five seasons but they have just been trips, with nothing to show for it.
Stat Line
BCS titles: none
Title game appearances: four
Conference titles: six
Division titles: seven
Comparable Real Life Coach: Bob Stoops. Although Stoops has won a national title and Coach Tuco has not, there too many similarities otherwise not to make the comparison. Stoops’ nickname is “Big Game Bob” but the moniker is now almost sarcastic. Under Stoops, the Sooners have lost three title games and until last season’s Fiesta Bowl win over an outclassed UConn team, losing a bowl game was his M.O.

5. JCA- 16 points
Location, location, location The old real estate adage has been the problem for JCA in his Crop history. JCA has spent most of his tenure in the same division as RTP and while he has won three conference titles, he has spent most of them in second place. He did reach the title game in 2011 but fell to Alabama. No other coach has switched teams more than JCA, who is now at Texas and in the middle of a long winning streak. His teams play solid defense and lately have effectively used a spread based offense.
Stat Line
BCS titles: none
Title game appearances: one
Conference titles: four
Division titles: five
Comparable Real Life Coach: Rick Neuheisel. Skippy has bounced from Washington to Colorado to UCLA. JCA has gone from Miami to Florida to Texas. Both are trying to become the Larry Brown of the sport.

6. PAYTONNO1SON- 16 points
Payton entered the Crop in 2019 and made huge splash immediately. He took Southern Cal to the championship game. The Trojans have owned the Pac-Ten since his arrival, winning four of six conference titles. Payton’s teams have used a pro-style offense and usually are staunch defensively.
Stat Line
BCS titles: none
Title game appearances: one
Conference titles: four
Division titles: five
Comparable Real Life Coach: Frank Beamer. Beamer has been the class of the ACC for some time and Payton is shaping up to be the class of the Pac-10, with four of the last five league titles ending up in Los Angeles.

7. G-UNIT 12 points
Our fearless commish has undertook two rebuilding projects in Oklahoma State and Troy in his time in COC for 11. Some early recruiting misses stalled success in Stillwater but still G was skilled to recover to muster a conference title in 2018. He moved to Troy in 2022 and has earned a couple more conference titles, including an amazing #2 finish and 11-1 record in the 2024 season. G-Unit has employed a variety of offense systems, from the option to an air-raid. His defenses are known for their aggressive, blitz-happy 3-4 and 3-3-5 schemes.
Stat Line
BCS titles: none
Title game appearances: none
Conference titles: three
Division titles: six
Comparable Real Life Coach: Chris Peterson. The Boise State coach has made the team from Idaho a national power. To take Troy from the Sun Belt into two BCS games and a top two finish is remarkable. Troy’s recent recruiting efforts lead one to believe that like Boise, the Trojans will be a fixture at the top of the Sun Belt standings and the national top ten.

8. JAM- 3 points
The Jammer entered the Crop with Stanford and produced early results with a Pac Ten title in 2019. A couple of tough seasons at the Farm followed which prompted a move to a major rebuilding project with Florida International. FIU has definitely struggled in the Sun Belt under Jam’s watch but has had improvement each season.
Stat Line
BCS titles: none
Title game appearances: none
Conference titles: one
Division titles: one
Comparable Real Life Coach: Ty Willingham. Willingham won a Pac Ten title at Stanford but fell short of winning seasons following the league title.
