The committee has rejected this trade. Basically this doesn't do anything for Memphis at all. They just traded Gasol for Bynum and a 1st round pick so they don't really have a need for another pick. They really don't need Smith as they have a young PG locked up long term in Mike Conley. Rudy Gay is a franchise player that Memphis wouldn't let go for what you are offering.

does that change it? btw smith is a SG in game and would be better than anything grizz have coming off the bench at both sg/pg.

Sorry Jimmy, but we all agreed that this trade is a no-go for now. Grizz are a playoff team who have a young core of very good players. It could be argued that Gay is a top 5 franchise piece in the game considering his age, current rating, and potential rating. We just don't feel like they would swap Wallace/Smith for Gay so early in a new season--especially when they have Conley at the 1 and Mayo at the 2 already. To put in perspective, Denver got 3 young ~80ovr starters (Felton/Wilson Chandler/Gallo) and picks for Melo (who is 2 years older)

Maybe later in the season if they are outta the playoff picture they would be open to going into scrap mode--even so, Wallace is an aging SF...it will take a little more to land Rudy.
