    '11 BC Preview & Recruiting

The 2010 Boston College Eagles finished the year 11-2 (6-2) and ranked # 11 in the nation in the final poll. The Eagles return all of their offensive playmakers, but only return 5 defensive starters from a unit that gave up 20 PPG last year.

    Offense
On offense, Boston College returns 8 starters, including QB Shinskie, HBs Harris (723 yards 8 TD) and Phifer (10 TD), WRs Larmond, Lee, and Flutie, TE Pantale, and LT Wetzel, LG Cleary, and C Richman. The unit will switch away from the Georgia gameplan, back to the BC 1-back offense to get receivers onto the field instead of the FB.

    Defense

The BC defense only returns 5 players, but 4 of them were All - ACC performers. The unit will be anchored by 2 year starter Jr Luke Kuechly. On the line, DT Murray and 2nd team All ACC DE Holloway return. In the secondary, 2nd team All ACC CB Fletcher and 2nd team All ACC SS Legrande return. There will not be a huge dropoff in talent for BC, except for the linebacker position. The Eagles will stay in their 4-3 set again this year.

    Special Teams

Boston College returns both their starting P and K. Sr P Quinn looks to improve on a solid junior campaign. While, So K Freese improved his power and accuracy in the offseason and looks to become a weapon. In the return game, BC is extremely excited to see RS Fr speedster Shakim Phillips make plays.
