The Oregon rushing game was too much for the young Georgia defense in this one. The Ducks ran up 229 rushing yards, mostly by way of the option. Oregon only passed 15 times, but 4 of those went for TDs. Oregon's defense was able to create 2 turnovers on interceptions. This game was not as close as the score, as Georgia scored a TD with 30 seconds remaining. Good game Hokie.

Another SEC slugfest comes down to the final seconds in Baton Rouge. Both defenses played stout most of the game. But, the Georgia defense would eventually wear down at the end of the game, playing 13 more snaps than their counterparts. LSU would put up the first points of the game on a field goal in the second quarter. On the second play of the ensuing possession, Georgia QB Aaron Murray inadvertently pitched the ball to an LSU defender, who returned it to the Bulldog 19 yard line. A couple plays later, LSU would be up 10-0. Murray came back to engineer a scoring drive capped off by a pass to So WR Matt Tyson to cut the lead to 10-7. Georgia was in the redzone again on their next possession, but another poor decision by Murray / the coach resulted in an interception. Neither team scored in the third quarter. LSU kicked a FG early in the 4th quarter to go up 13-7 with about 5 1/2 minutes left. Murray led a 75-yard drive capped off by another pass to Tyson to take the lead 14-13 with a little over a minute left. LSU's QB was able to slice through a tired Georgia defense on the last drive, moving the ball into the redzone with under 30 seconds left. Once inside the 10-yard line, Georgia had to allow LSU's RB to score to have a chance to win with some time left. Georgia's offense took the field with 13 seconds left. The first pass attempt was incomplete, leaving 8 seconds left. The next play was complete for 30 yards and took the ball to midfield with 3 seconds left. On the next play, Murray was sacked as he wound up to throw the hail mary. Good game LSU.

Alabama defeats Georgia for the 4th time in the past 3 seasons. The game got off to a fast start, with both teams scoring on their first possession. Alabama was able to keep their offense going on the second drive, taking a 14-7 lead. The game's biggest play occurred on on Georgia's second drive. Georgia moved the ball to midfield and elected to run an iso play on a 1st and 10. HB Ken Malcome looked poised to have a 5 yard gain, but dropped the ball and Alabama recovered. Bama would use the short field to take a 21-7 lead and change the dynamic of the game. From there, Georgia would fail to play catch up against a tough Bama team. Alabama's offensive line and HBs were stellar, going for 172 yards and 2 TD. Good game cnic.

CBS was pissed off that they picked up this game. Both teams were pretty weak on offense. Florida's special teams lost them the game, as the Gators were only 1 of 3 on FGs from under 35 yards. Georgia's offensive line blocked no one and the wide receiving corps continuously dropped balls. The Bulldogs were lucky to escape with a win. Next up is Virginia Tech.

Georgia wins its 3rd bowl game in the last 4 years, defeating Texas Tech 31-24 in overtime. The game started off poorly, as the Red Raiders held a 17-3 halftime lead. The TTU passing game was on fire, going for 384 yards and picking up multiple 3rd downs. Georgia found a way to tie the game at 17 going into the 4th quarter. But, TTU was able to connect on a long pass play to take a 24-17 lead with 4 minutes left in the game. Georgia mounted a long drive, mixing the run and pass well and finally capped the drive on a 3-yard Ken Malcome run for a TD on a 4th down and goal play with 4 seconds left. In overtime, Malcome scored another TD to give Georgia its first lead of the game. On TTU's first play, Alec Ogletree intercepted a pass in the endzone to seal the win.
