Miami HB Mike James opened the scoring with a 66 yard TD run. That would turn out to be commonplace on the day for James. As a few drives later he got his 2nd big run with a 46 yarder to give the ‘Canes a 14-0 edge halfway through the 2nd quarter. Just a few plays later B.C. QB Chase Rettig hit Senior WR Colin Larmond on a beautiful route up the sideline for a 44 yard score. On the following drive Miami marched the ball down the field to find themselves on the 3 yard line with :55 seconds left in the 1st half and looking to take a two score lead. However, 4 plays later the Canes found themselves standing outside of the endzone with no points added to the scoreboard. And so the score stood at halftime an intriguing 14-7 lead for the Canes. On the opening drive of the second half Mike James had his second 66 yd td run of the day, and third overall. To take the score to 21-7. And that’s where the score stood until 1:30 left in the 3rd quarter. It is also where the suspense of the game ended when, on 4th and 1 MIA goes for it and throws a 1 yd swing pass to James for his 4th TD of the game. From that point on MIA went on to score 6 more TD’s in a complete laugher and trouncing of the Eagles 63-14. It was a very disappointing start to the season for the Eagles. But all hope is not lost. They look to build from the first 3 quarters of this game and come back next week with a win.
