This game was scoreless until late in the second qtr.

Tennesee put a long drive together and senior FB Kevin Cooper carried it in from two yards out in our heavy set.

We kicked off and the Bama starting qb got drilled tossed and pick and was lost for four weeks in the process.

First play we hit Senior TE Luke Stocker with a 21 yard pass where he fought off a flailing bama db the last five yards.

    14-0 Vols.

Alabama would make a nice drive and score a TD on a five yard run, after playing really solid D the entire first half the Vols D gave up this TD in like five plays.

    14-7 Vols.

Right before the half we had first and ten at the Bama 15 with 26 seconds to go and decided to get cute and it cost us at least a FG when we tossed a pick in the corner of the endzone.

The second half started out much like the first, lots O good D and punts.

We finally were able to get a drive going on the legs of Bryce Brown RB who was able to get it rolling. He would finalize the drive with a td run of four yards.

    21-7 Vols.

Desperate and running out of time Bama would put together a drive with Star Jackson breaking out of two sacks and running for large gains, he would also throw some nice passes when needed and Bama would run the hurry up down the field and score a td with 11 seconds left to make it 21-14.

They needed the onside kick and they go it..... (n)

One last heave against a qtr D in prevent and backed off....the Bama qb would find Julio Jones WR one on one with a back up S...unreal, for his lone catch of the day and we would tackle him at the five...and the clock ran out.

Vols win a huge game 21-14 with recruits a plenty in attendence.

    GG Josh.

Tennessee did more than just knock Alabama a few pegs in this one. The Vols were able to stuff the Tide run all day. Tennessee was just the more physical team in this one.

Go forward from this one Alabama will fill the effects for another 4 weeks. Starting QB Greg McElroy (over 200 passer rating on the season) finished the game early in the 3rd quater and will be sidelined for 4 weeks with a strained pectoral mucsle. This puts McElroy on the bench for rival games @ LSU and Auburn. Backup Star Jackson was tossed into the fire with 100,000 fans on his back. It showed in his performance and was unable to lead the Tide to a comeback. Jackson was also sent to the bench for a brief period with injury. Alabama had to go deep on the bench at the QB position with 4 different signal callers completing passes.

Tennessee got physical with Heisman hopeful HB Mark Ingram, Ingram was knocked out of the game and missed the 2nd and 3rd quarter. He was unable to get anything going when he returned in the 4th.
