    2009 Cincinnati Bearcats

    Week 1

    Cincy 28
    Rutgers 31

Heartbreak for the Bearcats as the Rutgers Scarlet Knights erased a 21-9 deficit to come out on top 31-28. Senior QB Tony Pike was 20-35 with 287 yards 2 td's and 2 int's.

Pouring salt on the wounds of Cincy was the loss of freshman sensation Chris Williams (CB) for the year with a partially torn ACL; and the loss of starting WR DJ Woods for 12 weeks with a foot stress facture.

    Week 2

    Boise St. 24
    Cincy 38

The Bearcats quickly erased the painful memories of their week 1 loss to Rutgers with a solid win against a strong Boise St. team. The Bearcats offense was impressive. QB Tony Pike threw for 344 yards and 4 td's. TE Ben Guidugli was on the receiving end of three of those passes.

The defense, on the other hand, has to improve and improve fast. They gave up 427 total yards, with 379 of those yards being through the air.

As nice as a win as it was, it still proved to be extremely costly for the Bearcats. Junior WR Jamar Howard is out for the season after rupturing a disk on a touchdown pass during the 4th quarter and Senior SS and team captain Aaron Webster will be out 3 weeks with a strained back.

Just how deep is Cincinnati's depth chart? Stay tuned...
