    2009 Colorado Buffaloes

    Week 1

    Rocky Mountain Showdown

    Buffaloes 27
    Rams 10

The game started out poorly for the Buffs, CSU took a 10-0 lead. A couple of big pass play set up 2 td's and the Buffs defense pitched a second half shutout. QB Cody Hawkins completed 20-30 and about 240 yards, with 1 td pass and no turnovers. RB Darrell Scott broke the 100 yard mark and scored 1 td. The team is now turning its attention to a week 2 match-up at Iowa.

    Iowa 42

Iowa took control from the opening KO, returning that for a td and never looking back. QB Cody Hawkins was under intense pressure the whole game, getting sacked 6 times and throwing 5 interceptions. The Buffs are hoping to rebound next week back at home.

    Good game Emmdot!

Sluggish start for the Buffaloes, but a solid all around effort pulled out the victory.

The Buffs came into Morgantown as huge underdogs, but that only motivated the Buffs to pull off the big upset. Led by a unrelenting pass rush, the Buffalo defense held onto the lead late. QB Cody Hawkins passed for over 300 yards and 1 touchdown. The Buffaloes are looking forward to next week's matchup with #2 Texas.

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. They will kill you. QB Cody Hawkins threw 4 picks, 2 in the red zone and 1 returned for a touchdown. You can't turn the ball over this much and expect to win the game. HB Darrel Scott was injured in the first half and didn't return until the second, but he made a huge impact with 2 long runs and 2 touchdowns. He fininshed with 150 yards of total offense.

Coach dakota made a surprise move this week, removing sophmore Tyler Hansen's redshirt and installing him as this week's starter. Well, the move paid off. The Buffs changed offensive philosophies as well, staying with the singleback formations, but balancing the playcalling with more running and more option plays. Hansen didn't disappoint. The offense controlled the clock and the defense was dominant. Big win that gets this season back on track.

The Buffs got the win, continuing with their new balance attack. Hansen was knocked out of the game in the first quarter, and was replaced by turnover machine Cody Hawkins. Hawkins, however, played under control and was turnover free. Darrell Scott led the way with over 200 yards rushing and 3 td's. The Buffs are looking ahead to a big match-up with Texas AM.

The Aggies were dominant on the ground. Colorado had no answer for their attack and had trouble mounting a serious attack themselves, at least in the first half. QB Tyler Hansen threw 2 first half interceptions and the Buffs missed a field goal attempt on the opening drive. The Aggies true freshmen HB Christine Micheal? rolled up about 180 yards and 4 scores. I believe he is the leading rusher in the nation right now, and it showed.

ISU is just terrible. Sorry. I practically played this one with my eyes closed. Intercepted 5 passes and returned 2 for touchdowns. Darrel Scott had 170 and 2 scores on the ground. Looking ahead to OSU next week.

The Buffs won their regular season finale against the rival Cornhuskers. The defense was huge, shutting the Huskers down in the second half. HB Darrell Scott had over total200 yards and 1 TD. The Buffaloes are hoping for a bid to the Insight Bowl on New Year's Eve.
