I will abstain from the vote if it's just for 2009 guys, since I joined the OD during the bowls that season.

But to throw a monkey wrench into this setup, would it be easier if there was some sort of prerequisites that a player had to meet in order to be considered, such as:

    1) At least a 2 year starter from 2009 - 2011
    2) At least one 1st team All-America selection
    3) Winner of at least one major end of season award, or team won BCS title

Rather than doing just 2009 then 2010 then 2011, we could just do an inaugural class for this year from the players who were on teams for 2009 - 2011.

    Just a thought....

Doesn't matter to me. As far as I'm concerned they can all bow down to Lorenzo Washington, "King of the Backfield"

BTW what me and Knight talked about last night was doing one for each year. I reckon me and him will try to get the other 2 classes tonight.

And I vote for anywhere between 3-5 per class or we could do a voting point system and say you have to have so many points to get in.

the first class isnt really going to have many standards and just something to get this thing going. and Id like everyone to vote regardless if they were in the dynasty or not at the time.

I think 3 would be a good number, or a point system like they do in baseball would be good to.

Can you vote for your own players?

Id like to point out that Blount missed a lot of PT due to injuries that season. Where is ol' Masoli?

I would clarify that in the initial post, it wasn't clear to me how it was determined when a player was eligible.

If I have to vote, I'll base my votes on players who won major awards and/or led their team to the title. Based on that, I'd only vote for Lorenzo Washington. It seems the best players on the best teams in 2009 were all underclassmen (Masoli, Julio Jones, Jermaine Thomas, Sean Spence, etc.).

    How about this:

Each coach grades each nominee 1-10
    Heisman bonus 20 points
For each major award the player gets a bonus 15 points
All-American (First or second team) bonus 10 points
All Conference (First or second team) bonus 5 points

Minimum Qualifying Point Grade - 100

Ofcourse after the first few seasons we may have to adjust the qualifying points

And the only reason I suggest we adjusting later on is because we'll eventually have a lot of multi year starters that will be going in and we really shouldn't have 15 or 20 guys going in a season.

One other thing I have thought about is toward the end of our NCAA 10 run we start going back and maybe do a NCAA 10 All-C2C Team. I'll keep saving the OD's offline and I can put together a list of the Top 10 all time at each position and we can vote while we wait on the rosters being named. Maybe do 3 teams depending on the amount of years we finish with.

    Alright Alright, excellent idea.

Papa I think we should revise the points:

    Heisman: 25
    Award: 20
    1st AA: 15
    2nd AA: 10
    All-Conf: 5

I believe that will give more weight to the awards and all-americans. We will hold the 100 point limit and see where to set it once we open up the voting. Basically set a curve after the test has been given

Rate our top vote 10, then the next vote 9? or rate everyone what we think they are worth? So If my first two choices were Murray and Tebow could I give them both an 8? Or would I need to give Tebow a 10, Murray a 9, Blount 8 etc?

Tebow's stats were f'n sick. not throwing more than 10 INT's is extremely impressive (No one comment on my QB's please)
