    HARD COMMITS

:5stars: #3 WR Adam Richardson (5'11" 181lbs. Oak Park, IL)
Adam is a highly touted and recruited WR out of the midwest region. He is choosing Iowa over Florida and USC. He has B+ speed and B- route running. He has B agility and B+ juke. Look for Adam to step in at the slot receiver position in the near future.

    :4stars: #9 QB Darius Martin (6'0" 209 Alton, IL)
Darius joins Iowa as the highest ranked player thus far in their 2009/10 recruiting class. He has chosen to stay close to home but leave his home state of Illinois.Martin has B+ accuracy and B- throw power. He as balanced of a player as Derby, but has potential to compete for the starting job after Ricki Stanzi departs Iowa.

    :4stars: #10 QB A.J. Derby (6'0" 197lbs. Iowa City, IA)
AJ is a strong and quick quarterback that will contend for the starting job here in a few years. He has B Throw Power, C+ Accuracy, Break Tackle, and Elusiveness.

    :4stars: #15 CB BJ Lowery ( 6'0" 187lbs. Cincinnatti, OH)

BJ might step up and get significant playing time next year. He is a quick defensive back who can step right in with great speed and coverage. He has B+ speed, B Man and Zone Coverage, as well as B- Agility.

    :4stars: #15 HB Marcus Coker (5'8 205lbs. Farmington, MI)
Marcus chose to committ to the University of Iowa over Cincinnati and Michigan. He is a speedy yet skilled young back. He has B+ speed and B+ Spin move. He will contribute in a few years after he develops into an all-around back.

:4stars: #16 CB Don Shumpert (6'0" 183lbs. Cedar Rapids, IA)
Don will impact the Iowa secondary fairly quickly as they will lose some key CB here next year. Don has B+ speed, B- Zone coverage, C+ agility, Pursuit, and tackle. Coaches have also talked bout moving him to a safety position.

    :3stars: #11 DE Louis Trinca-Pasat (5'11" 220lbs. Springfield, MO)
Louis is one of the most underrated DE in this years recruiting class. Although he is a 3 star athlete, he has B- speed, B power moves, and C+ tackle. Look for Louis to step into the DL in the next two years.

    :3stars: #20 LB James Morris (6'4" 210lbs. Ottawa, IL)
James is a talented OLB that chose to come to Iowa over LSU and Penn St. He has B- pursuit and agility as well as C+ hit power. James will develop into a leading LB for Iowa in a couple years.

    :3stars: #34 OLB Jim Poggi (6'2" 206lbs. Coralville, IA)
After receiving no scholarship offers from neighboring schools, Jim chose to stay in his home state of Iowa and become a Hawk. Jim is a run stopper with C+ Speed, Play recognition, Hit power, and is conditioned well with B- stamina. In a few years Jim has the potential to develop into a good OLB. Coaches are also talking about maybe moving him to the DE postition.

:3stars: #37 LB Austin Gray (5'10" 207lbs. Portage Lakes, OH)
Austin was looking to come to Iowa after receiving little interest from some other schools. Gray is a well rounded LB and ee will develop into a great linebacker with his B- Tackle, Block Shedding, Hit Power, and Agility.

:3stars: #51 FS Christian Kirksey (6'3" 195lbs. St. Louis, MO)
Christian is a Juco transfer who will have a shot to prove himself after RSSO Brent Greenwood leaves the Hawks. Coach Frisk is also debating putting him at CB in the next year or two. Christian has B- Man and Zone coverage, but has C+ hit power and C+ agility.

Just after the Michigan State game two players gave word to Head Coach Frisk. Four star Quarterback Darius Martin and 5 star wide receiver Adam Richardson both contacted Frisk announcing their interest to play. Martin signed the papers, while Richardson assured Frisk he was coming with a verbal commit (signature pending). Check the Recruiting board below for their outlook and projections....

The Iowa Hawkeyes announce the signing of 5 star WR Adam Richardson, 3 star DE Louis Trinca-Pasat, and 3 star LB James Morris. These signees contribute to an already great recruiting class for the Hawkeyes. With these signees the Hawks are looking for 5 more Hard commits to wrap up their 2009/2010 recruiting class.

On a side note, The Hawks also received verbal commitments from 4 star CB Don Shumpert and 3 star WR Stephane Ngoumou. Look for them to sign here after the Big 10 Championship game against the #11 Minnesota Gophers.

    HARD COMMITS

    :5stars: #7 MLB Pat Reynolds (6'1" 218lbs. Monticello,LA)
Pat committed to Iowa just before the Michigan game. This was a tough decision to leave home and turn down scholly offers to West Virginia and Oklahoma. We are very excited about this 5 star athlete. He has B- speed, Tackle, Hit power, and strength. He will become the centerpiece to Iowa LB core in the next couple years. He reminds us of Pat Angerer.

    :4stars: #4 C Adam Cook (6'5" 281lbs. Kirkwood, MO)
Adam has told the coaches he plans on attending Iowa but he still needs to sign them papers. Adam will be turning down scholarship offers to Oklahoma, Penn St, and Georgia. Adam will step in almost immediately. His most notable skills are his run block strength, overall strength, run block, and pass block which are all B. Look for Adam to be a big force at the center of the Iowa Hawkeyes O Line.

    :4stars: #9 OLB Marcus Lucas (6'2" 219lbs. Texarkana, TX)
Marcus is a JUCO transfer and has proven himself to be a valuable asset at the JUCO level. He is looking to step in at a LB role with 3 of 4 Iowa LB's graduating. Marcus has B- Speed, Tackle, and Hit Power. With those tools Coach Frisk believes he can mold him into a solid key component in an impressive Iowa LB Core.

:4stars: #12 WR Heath Simmons (6'3" 176lbs. Bayou Vista, LA)
Heath is a very skilled player and has great size. He was heavily recruited by West Virginia and Texas Tech but decided to come to Iowa. He will contribute with his B Speed, B- route running, C+ catching, catch in traffic, and spectacular catch. Coach Frisk believes Heath will develop into a very good receiver.

    :4stars: #17 SS Barry Harris (6'1" 207lbs. Uniontown, PA)
Barry is just what the doctor ordered. With many of Iowa's secondary leaving after this year, Barry will have the chance to play as a freshmen if he commits to Iowa. He is a well rounded defensive player with B- speed, B tackle, B Zone coverage, B- hit power, B pursuit, B- press coverage, and B- agility. Barry has what it takes to be one of the best safeties to roam the Iowa secondary.

    :4stars: #18 SS Anthony Wilson (6'3" 197lbs. Rockingham, NC)
Anthony is a great young player who will have a big part in the Hawks defense in the near future. He decided to leave his home state of NC and come to Iowa in hopes of playing soon. Anthony has B Speed, tackle, Zone coverage, Hit power, Agility, Stamina, and Injury. He is a very well rounded player and we are excited for him to come to camp.

    :4stars: #19 T Darren Rooney (6'3" 286lbs. Paterson, NJ)
Darren decided to commit after a long hard session of decision making. He was being pursued not only by Iowa but by Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame, and LSU. Darren is a phenomenal young player and has notable attributes such as B pass block, run block, strength, impact blocking, Run block strength, footwork and Pass block strength. Coach Frisk expects Darren to step into the tough Iowa OL in a year.

    :4stars: #21 MLB Jarvis Bonds (6'1" 221lbs. Purcell, OK)
Jarvis is just one step away from sealing the deal to come to Iowa to play football. He is a very talented young linebacker and is well rounded with B- speed, tackle, block shedding, pursuit, and C+ hit power. If Jarvis decides to come to Iowa, he will add to what is becoming the new Linebacker U.

    :4stars: #21 T Brian Horne (6'7" 292lbs. Williamsburg, KY)
Mr. Horne chose to leave his region of the US and play for Iowa because of their tradition and their ground and pound strategy. He is a very good sized OL and at 6'7" he will really be able to help hide the backs in the Iowa backfield. He has outstanding attributes with the most notable ones being B Pass Block, Run Block, Impact Blocking, Strength, Run Block footwork, and Pass Block Strength. Look for him to be a stud in a year or two.

    :3stars: #34 TE Chad Arnold (6'4" 239lbs. Ashwaubenon, WI)
Iowa likes to have a dual threat TE as they are an intricate position in Iowa's system. Chad has the ability to be a great TE. HE has C speed but B catching. He also has B- Run and Pass Block. Coach Frisk was impressed with watching Chad play and his gameplay in film. Look for Chad to step up into a starting role after a redshirt year.

    SOFT COMMITS

    :3stars: #26 G Kevin Parks (6'5" 297lbs. Cleveland, OH)
Iowa likes to pound the football and needs a solid offensive line to do so. It is important that the Hawks round up Guards with the same type of potential as Kevin. If Kevin decides to commit he will have a chance to play early. He has a great skill set which can be molded into Iowa's style. Kevin has B- pass block, B- impact blocking, B strength, and B run block strength. He has great size and Coach Frisk is excited to see him come to camp in the spring.
