The Fightin Texas Aggies were completely out-classed in their Big XII opener vs. the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The #8 Cowpokes beat the Aggies by a score of 38-10 in front of a packed house at Kyle Field. The Ags were done in by turnovers, sacks and dropped passes.

The Cowboys sacked Jr. QB Jerrod Johnson 6 times on the day, while the Aggie receivers dropped 7 passes. Those factors conspired to hold Johnson to a 51% completion rate and only 191 passing yards.

The Aggie defense appeared to have the most trouble stopping Cowboy RB Kendall Hunter who averaged an eye-popping 8.4 yards per carry. QB Zac Robinson also had a nice day completing 13 of 18 passes for 204 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The only true bright spot was heralded frosh running back Christine Michael who was able to scratch out 149 total (101 rushing) yards against a fast, aggressive Ok.St. defense.

The Aggies dropped to 0-2 in Big XII conference play as they were dominated by the K-State Wildcats. The trip to the Little Apple was an utter disaster as A&M was once again plagued by dropped passes and turnovers.

QB Jerrod Johnson was responsible for 4 of the 5 turnovers, as he threw 3 interceptions and lost a fumble. Despite leading the Aggie ground attack with 62 yards and a touchdown, freshman RB Christine Michael also contributed a fumble to the cause. Sophomore WR Jeff Fuller had 4 drops for the second consecutive game.

Compounding the offensive problems was the Aggie defense giving up 444 yards to the Wildcats. K-State QB Grant Gregory had a career day, throwing for 335 yards and setting a school record with 5 passing touchdowns. For the second straight week, the Aggies were unable to record a sack or turnover.

The Texas A&M Aggies got their first Big XII win with an upset of the #20 Texas Tech Red Raiders in Lubbock. The Aggie defense held the high powered Tech offense to less than 300 total yards and only 8 points. Leading the way was Sr. CB Justin McQueen who had 8 tackles and a pass defensed. True frosh CB Dustin Harris and Sr. Safety Jordan Pugh also came up with interceptions at key points.

Offensively, the Ags were paced by freshmen Christine Michael (93 total yards) and Uzoma Nwachuku who had 60 receiving yards and a touchdown. Jr. QB Jerrod Johnson completed 17 of 21 passes for 238 yards and 2 tds, but did also throw 3 interceptions.

The 3-3 Aggies return home next week to face the Iowa State Cyclones.

    Aggie squeak by Cyclones 26-23

The life of a kicker can be unfair sometimes. You can make every kick through three quarters and miss the one with the game on the line, and people will say that you're no good. With 0:06 left on the clock versus Iowa State, that was the situation that was facing Texas A&M sophomore Kicker Randy Bullock.

Bullock was 3/3 so far, with each kick splitting the uprights perfectly, now Iowa State had used their last timeout to try to unnerve the strong-legged 2nd year player. A miss would send the game into overtime and who knows what the psyche of the Aggie team would have been considering that it had blown a 17 point lead in the 4th quarter. Bullock must have ice water flowing through his body because he was completely unfazed and again sent the kick straight through the goal post into the net.

Bullock's heroics wouldn't have been possible if not for the play of QB Jerrod Johnson and WR Ryan Tannehill on the Aggies final drive. Johnson was a perfect 5-5 on passing attempts, including 3 key completions to Tannehill that gave the Aggies first downs, and set Bullock up for the game winning kick.

The win improves the Aggies' record to 4-3 overall, 2-2 in Big XII play.

The Texas A&M Aggies took their 2 game winning streak on the road to Boulder, Colorado and were lost in a blizzard of Buffalo scoring passes. Aggie QB Jerrod Johnson may have out gained Buff QB Cody Hawkins, 309-168, but Hawkins was able to throw 4 touchdown passes compared to Johnson's 1.

The Buffalo offense and special teams managed to put up a sizzling 36 points during the snow storm, while the Aggie ground game was held to a frigid 14 yards. The Buff defense had 4 defenders with double digit tackles.

    Ags can't Finish!

    Sooners 31
    Aggies 28

The rollercoaster season goes on for the Texas A&M Aggies. They have now lost two games in a row after previously winning two straight. Granted, no one gave the Fightin' Ags much of a chance to go into Norman to knock off the #5 ranked Oklahoma Sooners, but the opportunity was certainly there.

The Sooners jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the 1st quarter and led 24-10 at the half. The Aggies mades some adjustments at the half and out-scored OU 18-7 in the 2nd half, and out-gained(374-225) them for the game but it wasn't enough.

Sacks and turnovers were again the main culprits. QB Jerrod Johnson had another 3 interception game, while the Sooners were able to sack him 4 times. Johnson threw for 366 yards and 2 touchdowns but the ints seemed to come at the most inopportune times.

The Aggies will try to rebound from this loss, but are now in a tough spot. Since they only have 11 games and are 4-5 on the season, they likely must win both games to qualify for a bowl.
