2009 UConn Huskies - Papa Perry

    Coach Papa Is UConn Football

3 weeks into the 2009 season and 1 day after their first win of the season, UConn fired their head coach and brought in coach Papa Perry to lead the Huskies. His first game was more or less a scrimmage against one of the less talented FCS teams. They won 28-0 but his first true test will be their conference opener against the mighty Pitt Panthers.

Coach Papa's 2nd Win Is A Big Win; UConn Beats Pitt 27-24

Pitt came out firing on all cylinders and jumped up 21-10 in the first half. But in the second half the Huskie defense tightened up and shut out Pitt and caused some turnovers that put UConn in the driver seat to win the game.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The Good - Defense In Critical Situations

The Defense only allowed Pitt to convert 1-8 3rd downs and forced 3 turnovers.

The Bad - Defense Giving Up Yardage

Total Offense allowed was 303 yards and Pitt's Lewis got 70 yards almost effortlessly.

    The Ugly - Quarterback Play

3 INT's are enough to make any coach sick.
