    2010 - 2011 Preseason Preview [ACC]

2009.....A disappointing year for the Hokies since they fell short of winning their 3rd consecutive ACC title but ended the season on a high note by kicking the ass of Tennessee in the Chick-Fil-A bowl.

What to watch for this season- a much improved and experienced Offense. Wait a second.... Yes I did folks the Hokies are looking to be a high scoring offense with SR QB Tyrond Taylor leading the way with his feet and arm. The Receiving core are going to be lead by JR Jarrett Boykin and Danny Coale.

The RBs are looking to be the best core of backs in the NCAA with Sophmore RB Ryan Williams, JR RB Darren Evans, Soph David Wilson and JR Josh Oglesby. Williams and Evans are both 1,000+ yard rushers.

The defense has some holes to be filled with the loss of a lot of key players to the NFL and graduation. But this shouldn't be a problem with defensive coordinator Bud Foster who's known for putting together great defenses for Virginia Tech.

With Va Tech being soo loaded in skill positions it might be a problem keeping everyone with enough touches.

2009- With the final season of coachin for Bobby Bowden will Jimbo Fisher be able to turn the once dominating powerhouse to their former glory? It helps that this team has some talent on both sides of the ball but have been falling short of being consistent in execution for the past 6 years.

What to watch for this season - SR QB Christian Ponder and JR RB Jermaine Thomas. Before having a season ending injury, Ponder really found his rhythm midway in the season. His best game was a losing effort against Ga Tech going 26-36 with an amazing 5 TDS. Due to his inexpierence he had an equally amazingly bad games like against Clemson going 21-33 1 TD and 4 INTs. Thomas accumulated 832 yards and with 9 TDs who will be running behind a line completely intact from last year.

Defensively was ranked last in the ACC allowing an avg of 30 pts a game. Lacking a pass rush it will be interesting to see if the new defensive coordinator Mark Stoops can harden up this soft defense.

Not in this OD as now but my vote goes to my bandwagon ACC team, Virgina Tech. Loved using VT online last year and running all over people with Williams and Evans.
