In Alabama's first SEC game of the year, Bama showed that their defense is for real, holding a very good Arkansas offense to only 222 yards of total offense. Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram stole the show as they combined for 261 yards on 41 carries and 2 Richardson TD's. Greg McElroy didn't have to do much as he chipped in with 171 yards and 2 td's.

After a tough fought first half Alabama finally wore out Florida in the 2nd half and won 31-17. Alabama dominated the 2nd half in which they outscored the Gators 21-7. Alabama leaned on the running game and defense for most of the game as the Crimson Tide defense got 3 turnovers on the day. Alabama got their first 2 interceptions on the year today as the defense finally came thru for them.

South Carolina could not be stopped on offense as they shocked Alabama 40-21. USC QB Stephen Garcia had a monster day going 22-36 for 375 yards and 2 tds. Backup USC running back Kenny Miles stole the show as he only touched the ball 2 times on offense and scored on both. Late in the 4th quarter Miles busted a 77 yard td on which he broke 3 tackles, which just about put the game away for South Carolina, but after a quick interception thrown by Bama QB McElroy, Miles broke a 43 yard run and put the game away for good.

Alabama gets an ugly win against Ole Miss 30-21. Bama gave up 358 yards passing but did just enough to win. QB Greg McElroy had another bad game as he only completed 7 out of 18 passes for 176 with 1 td and 1 int. Ole Miss RB Brandon Bolden couldn't find much running room as he only ran for 56 yards on 30 carries. Mark Ingram had a decent game running for 90 yards on 19 carries and 1 td.
