    Eagles Start Season With Shutout

Boston College managed to hold Eastern Michigan scoreless in week 1 action in front of the home crowd. Sophmore QB David Shinskie at least for one week silenced all the QB controversy talk as he managed a 198.2 QBR for the game going 8 of 19 for 196 yds with 4 TDs and 0 INTs.

Junior HB Montel Harris found the EMU defense stouter than expected as he struggled to grind out 81yds on 13 carries with 1 TD.

Junior WR Billy Flutie scored twice on the day with two receptions going for 72yds.

Junior CB Isaac Johnson preserved the shutout with EMU threatening in the BC redzone when he managed to intercept the ball at the goalline and go all the way for the TD with less than a minute remaining in regulation.

The game wasn't all good as the Eagles looked sloppy on all fronts for the most part as they struggled with an inferior opponent. A trend coaches hope won't continue.

BC bounced back from their week 2 loss in a big way as they went on the road and throttled Washington in Huskie stadium. The game got out of hand early and BC was able to cruise to the lopsided victory. All American Washington QB Jake Locker looked uncomfortable from the start only managing 136yds going 9 of 29 and tossing 4 interceptions. Numbers which will surely hurt his heisman chances.

BC QB Shinskie went 5 of 6 for 109 yds. The BC OL really handled the Washington front and gave plenty of running lanes for the BC backs.

JR HB and team captain Montel Harris was pog as he rushed for 225 yds 4tds on 18 carries.

Freshman RB S Phifer got reps himself as Harris rested going for 210 with 3tds on 18 carries.

SR FS W Davis snagged 2 interceptions for the defense.

This was just one of those funk games for Washington. I've seen them in madden where one team can't seem to do anything right or catch a break.

    BOSTON COLLEGE 35 VT 21

Boston College upset the #5 ranked VT Hokies in front of a sold out home crowd 35-21. BC QB Shinskie was POG going 17 of 36 for 370yds 3tds 0ints.

Jr. RB Montel Harris rumbled for 127yds on 20 carries and Jr. WR B Flutie hauled in 6 catches for 183 yds and 1 td.

The teams exchanged blows until late in the 4th qtr when BC wideout flutie made a great play and took a long pass all the way for the score to put BC up with less than a minute left in regulation. BC kicked off and on the very first play for VT, QB T Pryor threw an errant pass right into the hands of BC Jr. CB I Johnson who returned it all the way putting the Eagles up 35-21 with :35 seconds left. The next play the Hokies fumbled the return as BC recovered and only needed to bring out the victory formation to get the W.

The Eagles traveled to North Carolina this week to take on the wolfpack and try to protect their new #24 ranking. The Eagles were able to do that in convincing fashion defeating the pack 42-14. The Eagles should be in the top 25 for at least one more week. It won't get any easier though for BC. The next three weeks matchups with FSU on the road followed by two home games against undefeated conference rivals Maryland and Clemson.

BC QB Shinskie played well this week going 15 of 23 for 271yds 2TDs 1 Int

RB M Harris rumbled for 168yds 3tds on 26 carries

TE Pantale hauled in two TD passes

The star of the defense was standout LB Herzlik who had a great interception return for a TD.

The #21 ranked Boston College Eagles traveled to FSU to battle the #25 ranked seminoles this week in front of a hostile crowd.

The Eagles showed poise and protected the ball and came away with a big 31-6 win.

Now the Eagles must try to carry some of this momentum through the next two weeks as they battle rivals Maryland and Clemson.

Boston College built off their impressive win last week and in front of the home crowd got an unlikely victorythis week over the talented clemson tigers.

The Eagles cruised to a 44-8 victory. Jr. CB Donnie Fletcher led the way for the defense with 3 interceptions. The tigers were really put in a hole early in this one and had some bad breaks go the way of the hometown eagles. BC is excited about the possibilities on the recruiting front as several prospects were present for the big win, considering whether to commit to BC. Time will tell.
