"The Fighting Illini welcomed the Mizzou Tigers to Champagne for the annual Arches Rivalry. The game showed some strong play from TRUE FRESHMAN QB N. Scheelhaase who went 11/17. 279 Yds, 2 TDs, and NO INTs. A very efficient day for the Freshman who played with great poise. He also had help from Veteran HB M. LeShoure who rushed for 117 yards on 21 attempts. Illinois opens up 1-0 on the season with the big rivalry as the King of the Arches. Next week Coach Hova and his Illini host the Uconn Huskies in what should be a great battle of young rising teams."

"Illinois picks up another win at home, this time agaisnt the Uconn Huskies. Freshman QB Scheelhaase put in another impressive game going 10/14, 137 yards, and 1 TD through the air. The Illini also had a solid running game that had over 3 different players contributing. They played solid defense the whole day only giving up 1 TD and also got an INT. Coach Hova tries to keep the momentum going next week as they head on the road for the first time heading up to Northern Illinois for a battle with NIU."

"The Illini traveled up north to face their in-state foe and the game was never close. The huskies had trouble holding on to the ball early and after a big Pick 6 by the Illini the game as out of reach. Freshman QB Scheelhaase has another great day throwing 2 TDs and rushing for 1. Illinois also had a 100 yard rushing day on the ground thanks to three different rushers on the offense. Illinois now takes a BYE before heading back home and hosting the #2 Ohio St Buckeyes which will be the biggest challenge of the year for this young Illini team."

    WEEK 5

"The Illini came into this week knowing it would take a huge game to beat the highly ranked buckeyes. They started off good intercepting OSU QB Pryor on the first play of the game. However they could not capitalize and had to settle for 3. After that the OSU defense pretty much dominated while HB Saine ran all over the Illini for the total off 227 yards and 2 TDs on the day. The illini came into the 4th QTR down 30 to 10. The comeback was in the making as Illini QB Scheelhaase put the offense into a 5 Wide attack to combat the press defense. They got the game within 6 points several times but ultimately fell short at the end with a interception that sealed the win for the buckeyes. That had one last chance at an onside kicked but also failed at that. The Illini were over matched on every area of the field and could not make up for the talent difference on the teams. It gets no easier for the Illini who head to HAPPY VALLEY next week to take on a tough Penn St squad let by the ancient JOE PA."

The Illini bounce back after the tough loss agaisnt OSU and dominate the Nittany Lions in HAPPY VALLEY. Illinois dominated at every facet of the game, getting sacks, INTs, forcing fumbles and playing smart. QB Scheelhaase has an amazing game throwing 5 TDs and playing nearly perfect. The WRs made big plays all game long and Illinois looks to be back on track. Next week they head to East Lansing for a showdown with Sparty.

    WEEK 8

Illini put the Hoosiers in the CAMEL CLUTCH

Illinois came out in the all Blue's and dominated the Hoosiers this week. QB Osei got his first PT of the season with the starting QB going out with a game ending injury. Osei led the offense on a powerfull 5 wide attack hitting multiple TDs througout the game and keeping the deep ball a constant threat. He was also a threat on the ground making a few keys runs to keep the Illini chains moving. The defense played great as well leading to the huge W at home over the Indiana Hoosiers.

    WEEK 9

The Illini came from behind to knock off Purdue in a crazy game of passing. The illini had over 500 yards passing from 3 different QBs. With Scheelhaase getting Injured early the back up came and and didn't play very well and the game was getting out of sight. That's when Hova decided to Move McGee back to his original position to play QB. He had bad awareness at the position but still had the best arm on the team by far and showed it. McGee played great during his 2nd stint as QB for Illinois and led the Illini to Victory. When Coach Hova was asked about the future he said that Nathan should be back at QB next week but If he starts to make mistakes or go down again you can expect Mcgee to be taking some snaps again. As for next week he will head back to WR. The Illini head to the BIG HOUSE next week for a huge game with the Sissy wolverines.

    WEEK 10

MICHIGAN GETS DESTROYED IN NOT SO BIG HOUSE

    Illinois 42
    Michigan 26

"Illinois came into Michigan and mopped the floor with the baby blues this saturday afternoon. QB Scheelhaase passed all over the Michigan secondary like they were non existent going for over 400 yards and 3 TDs. Michigan loses another game and is 2 losses away from missing ANOTHER bowl with rich rod at the helm. They will no longer be the winning-est team in history if they keep this up. Coach Hova after the game: "I expected this, Michigan is a fraction of what they once were, not that they were ever anything special.... we played great and dominated as we should have. Time to focus on Minnesota next week, they should be much more of a challenge".

    #12 Illinois 31
    Minnesota 24

The Illini take care of the Gophers in a blizzard. The score looked closer than the game dictated as Minny scored late in the game. The passing game was once again firing on all cylinders led by Freshman QB Scheelhasse yet they did have trouble getting it in the endzone settling for 3 FGs. Nonetheless QB Scheelhasse passed for 421 yard and 3 TDs. WR Fayson led the corps with 110 yards on the day. The Illini move to 9-3 on the season and continue the quest for a BCS bowl.

    Fiesta Bowl

    #11 Illini 38
    #6 OU 20

"Illinois came in to this one expecting a war and that's what they got early. Hova knew his defense would have trouble stopping the OU offense so he came out guns blazing on Offense. QB Scheelhasse delivered all day going for over 350 yards and throwing 3 TDs. The freshman passed the 3,000 mark during the game on the season. We had trouble stopping OU until the 3rd QTR when the defense got some key stops. The offense continued to roll hitting big plays all game, a few to Senior WR Mcgee who had a great last showing catching 7 balls for 160 yards and a TD. Coach hova shocks the BCS and gets a Bowl title his first at the helm of a bowless Illini team from a year before. "The sky is the limit, we hope to keep this success going next year" said hova after the big bowl win."
