    HARANG, REDS DEFEAT MARLINS 5 - 1.

CINCINNATI, Oh -- Aaron Harang allowed 1 run on 5 hits and struckout 16 to lead the Cincinnati Reds over the Florida Marlins in the "Play In Round" of the Hit'Em Where They 'Aint Tournament. Harang appeared to be heading for a shutout only to have the it broken up in the ninth by a deep Cameron Maybin blast to get the Marlins on the board. Marlins starter Josh Johnson struggled early giving up 5 runs through the first 3 innings. However, he would settle in and pitch 5 scoreless innings to give the Marlins a chance. Unfortunately, the Marlins hitters were unable to take advantage.

    Key Stats -

    Reds

Joey Votto: 2-4, HR, RBI, R
    Ryan Gomes: 2-4, 2 Runs
Brandon Phillips: 1-4, HR, RBI, R
Aaron Harang: 8 Innings, 16 strikeouts, 0 walks, 5 hits allowed

    Mets defeat Cubs 2-0

Johan Santana allowed 5 hits in 6 innings of shutout work, striking out 3. Johan had trouble finding the strike zone all game long but luckily for him, the Cubs hitters had trouble staying in the strike zone. The double play was Johan's best friend tonight, recording 3 on the night. The bullpen did its job and closer Francisco Rodriguez closed the show in the 9th with 3 pitches, facing 3 batters all of whom attempted bunts in frustration.

    Key Stats:

    Mets

    Reyes: 2-4, 1 RBI
    Castillo: 2-4
    Barajas: 2-3, 1 RBI

    POTG
    Johan Santana: 6.2IP, 5 Hits, 3 SO

    Cubs

    Lee: 2-4
    Byrd: 2-4
    Theriot: 1-3

    Carlos Zambrano: 5.0IP, 6 Hits, 1 ER, 7 SO

Good game man, sry I was out of the strike zone so much but I suck at this game what can I say. I'm still learning as I go along. My base running mistakes were a clear example of that.

i was just pissed off at this server. Zambrano being kicked out because the game paused in the middle of his pitch and hit someone. Then it freezing a few more times. You would think sony could get a great server going since this is their title but as usuall they come up short

Rangers get their first win of the tournament beating the Twins in a rain-shortened(technical term is screwy servers) ballgame. The Rangers won 4-0, and had another standing on 2nd when the game was officially called by the umpire in charge(Sony).

The Rangers had a great pitching performance from their young lefty Derek Holland, and the offense was able to put some runs on the board. The first run was scored on a sac bunt by Saltalamacchia, who later drove in another run on a hit and run with Cruz scoring from first. Vlad and Hamilton added solo-shots to help their youngster on the mound.

Good game controllerabuser, sucks the server is so shitty.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros ended a very close and intense game late in the evening in downtown Texas without Texas fans cheering. The Astros battled back from a early 3-0 deficit in the bottom of the 8th and 9th. Dodgers starting pitcher Chad Billingsely went a strong 7 innings without giving up a run but was left in too long. The Astros jumped on him forcing Coach Frisk to put in CP Jonathan Broxton to stop the damage. He escaped the bottom of the ninth allowing 2 of Billingsley's runs to cross bringing the game to a tie.

The 10th inning was uneventful as both teams shut the door on the opposing batters. The Astros brought in Jeff Fulchino hoping to hold off the Dodgers powerful offense but was unsuccessful. Matt Kemp led off the Top of the 11th with a drive to right center which put him just 90 feet away from taking the lead. Next Batter Andre Ethier grounded out hard right to the Keppinger who was playing in, making it impossible for Kemp to score. With one out ,Manny Ramirez was plunked for the second time in the game giving the Dodgers a 1st and 3rd situation and James Loney up at the plate. Coach Frisk made a coaching blunder and tried to push across the run with a squeeze but ended up only advancing Ramirez to second. Now with 2 outs and runners on second and 3rd, Blake Dewitt trotted up to the plate. Dewitt caught a low inside changeup and drove it up the middle scoring Kemp, Manny rounded third hard and Astros Center Fielder Michael Bourn came up throwing but threw it short and wide of home plate allowing Manny to score easily.

Lefty specialist George Sherrill entered the game for the Dodgers in the bottom of the 11th and struck out the next three batter to clinch the win for Los Angeles. Good game Hack!

The Los Angelese Dodgers will square up with Noles and the #1 ranked Washington Nationals next round of the tournament.

Peavy, Andruw Jones lead White Sox to 4-1 win

Jake Peavy threw 7 innings allowing 1 run, while striking out 6. JJ Putz held the lead in the 8th and Bobby Jenks got a 1-2-3 9th inning for the save.

Andruw Jones lead the way for the White Sox going 3-4 HR 1 RBI. Juan Pierre was 2-4 2 SB 2 R from the lead off spot.

John Lester got off to a shaky start, allowing 2 runs in the 1st. He began to settle in keeping the Chicago offense off balanced. Jones changed that with 1 swing of the bat.

Yankees Out A's on 2 Jeter Longballs

Yankees take care of the A's in 1st round action of the TBL Tournament. Derek Jeter blasts 2 homer's in this one as does Nick Johnson. The Bombers held a 6-0 lead, but in the 8th they gave up a Grand Slam to make the game 6-4. They would hold on and quickly put out the A's in the 9th to secure a trip to the 2nd round where they will host the Texas Rangers.

Yanks Rally in 8th to Beat Texas!

What a game in the Bronx as they Yankees come back from a 6 to 3 deficit heading into the bottom of the 7th inning to beat the Rangers 10-6. Pitcher Phil Hughes came in for the struggling Andy Pettite and pitched 4 hitless innings. Derek Jeter and Curtis Granderson each had 2 run homers in the 8th to give the Yanks the 10-6 lead that would eventually be the final. The Bombers move on to the semi-finals in the TBL Tournament. The Yankees got out to an early 1-0 lead on a 2nd inning Curtis Granderson home run. After that the lazor show began as the Rays launched 6 home runs over the next 7 innings to take an 8-2 victory. The Yankees threatened in 3 seperate innings but each was ended by a double play ball. The big blow came off the bat of Evan Longoria. With Carl Crawford standing on first and a 5-2 score the Yankees still had hope. Chan Ho Park tried to get ahead in the count with a fast ball and Longoria was ready for it. Longoria turned the fastball around to the tune of a 420 foot moon shot into the upper deck in left field at "The New Yankees Stadium"(when can we just call it Yankee Stadium?) Yankees pitchers struck out 18 Rays. Next up for the Rays is a date in the championship round where they will either play the red hot Washington Nationals or the Chicago Cubs.

    Good Game Cimmy

    Nats move onto the Championship

The Nationals and Cubs played a best of three series to determine the winner of the NL. Cubs didn't throw Lilly in the first game and Manager Knight told ND about it, Knight didn't want to be a douche about it so he suggested a best of 3 and ND accepted. Game 2 was at Wrigley and Nationals had to fight back and win and force Game 3 back in Washington in which they had to fight back again being down 3-0 entering the 4th. Nationals took a 8-3 lead into the 9th and came out with an 8-7 victory.

A great series and ND is a great competitor and props to him going with the best of 3 series.
