41 Point 2nd Quarter Lifts Tigers over Cyclones

Ames, IO. – The Missouri Tigers road a 41-0 2nd quarter to waltz out of Ames with a 44-21 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones. QB Blaine Gabbert, played only the first half, threw for 170 yards and 2 TD’s. CB Tristen Holt had a pick six, his third in the past 2 games. In that 2nd quarter, the Cyclones turned the ball over 4 times, 3 of them fumbles on kick-off returns.

The ground game continues to be a big concern for the Tigers as they were unable to run the ball effectively once again. 37 carries for 68 yards just isn’t going to cut it!

Next week, Missouri heads to Lawrence for the annual Border War with the Kansas Jayhawks..

    2010 Holiday Bowl
    #22 Missouri – 28
    USC - 14

San Diego, CA – The Missouri Tigers capped off the 2010 season with a 28-14 victory over the USC Trojans in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. Junior QB Blaine Gabbert threw 3 TD passes and HB Kendial Lawrence ran for one. The Tiger defense forced 3 turnovers, including 2 picks. The USC offense was able to move the ball effectively on the ground but couldn’t score in the red zone.

Coach Recchem had this to say “Growing up in Southern Calilfornia, I was always a UCLA fan and hated USC with a passion, so this was a sweet win for me personally and our program.â€

The Tigers cap finish the season 10-3 while the Trojans finish up 7-6.
