Ohio State earned two early commitments in week one that will help beef up both the offensive and defensive lines.

Four star guard Aaron Black is the first of what figures to be at least 3 guards that OSU coaches hope to bring in with this class. Black will have the chance to see time as a freshman.

The Buckeyes will have some extra size on the defensive front as 324 pound Adam Thomas will stay in his home state for the next five years. Thomas, who will likely redshirt next season, intrigued Ohio State coaches with his strength. They view him as a sleeper prospect.

Ohio State received its third commit of the season this week when David Tompkins announced his intentions to play for Ohio State next season. Tompkins, a native Ohioan, is a 6-3, 243 pound defensive end who may see time as a true freshman according to coaches.

Tompkins was the eighth ranked defensive end in the country and 90th overall. The four-star end was the highest ranked DE in the state of Ohio.

Ohio State picked up its second commit in as many weeks when the No. 2 center in the class verbaled to OSU.

Westlake's Jon Marshall, who is 6-4 and 292 pounds, is also the second ranked player in the state of Ohio as well as the No. 18 overall prospect in the nation.

Ohio State coaches were thrilled to be able to keep such a highly-touted prospect in state. There is some speculation that if the No. 1 center in the land also comes to Ohio State that Marshall would move over to play one of the guard positions.

Ohio State now has just 14 scholarships to offer after four-star defensive tackle Mike Moore committed to OSU. Moore is the fifth best DT in the nation and 49th overall prospect according to scouting agencies.

The Buckeyes continue to put up the "fence" around Ohio as Moore was the not only the No. 1 ranked DT in the state, but also the No. 3 overall player.

Ohio State received its biggest commitment of the year so far when 5-star tackle Bret Anderson decided on the Buckeyes. Anderson is the No. 1 tackle in the nation and No. 2 overall prospect. The Pa. native figures to push for at least a backup job as a freshman.

Ohio State added two more recruits this week to push their class size up to 10 so far this year. OSU still has nine more scholarships to give out.

Scott "The Outsider" Hall, is a four star guard from St. Cloud, Florida. Hall is ranked 11th at his position and 125 overall and was the top-rated guard in his state.

The Ohio State coaches dipped into the JUCO ranks to snag Blake Gray. Just a three-star recruit, Gray the 112th ranked CB. However, he is the No. 7 JUCO CB.
