After a disappointing week 1 loss to instate foe Arizona, the Pride looked to rebound against their bitter rival the Utah Utes. Like their game last year, this one was high scoring with the teams combining for over 1300 total yards.

The improved Pride defense was evident in the first quarter where they held the Utes scoreless and the offense picked up where it left of by putting two TD's on the board to take a 14-0 lead. As the game progressed the Pride were able to score often with their two primary weapons Daniel Hansen and Jeremy Lloyd. 3 TD's by Hansen and 2 by Lloyd gave the Pride a comfortable 35-16 lead at half time.

The Pride controlled the ball for most of the second half and put the Utes to bed with a solid ground game. The 2nd string players saw a lot of time in the fourth quarter with the Pride leading 49-23. The game ended with a final of 55-30 and player of the game Daniel Hansen firmly placed his grip as the Heisman front runner with 138 yards rushing and 4 TD's on 25 carries. Senior Jeremy Lloyd also had an outstanding game with 222 yards receiving and 3 TD's on 7 receptions.

Next up is cross town foe Arizona State.
