In the first year of Coach Roy Baker (he prefers 'Sharkdizzle' apparently) tenure as Baylor's head man, the expectations are high? Why? Because he told the fans to expect greatness.

"I told the fans on the day I was hired to expect Baylor to be a force", he said. "No doubt in my mind that we have the type of team that could go places and make you look twice when you see our namesake."

Baker, however, is not disrespecting his opponents.

"We got some rugged opponents on the docket this year", he explained last week. "From Week 1 to the last game vs. Texas, we got some work to do. If we can play our game throughout the season, there isn't a question that we can achieve the goals we set out for this season."

Over 400 yards rushing leads Baylor to 52-7 beat down of Utah

The fact that the Baylor Bears won was not a shock. The way they won, however, is. Baylor's rushing attack hammered the Utah defense early and never let up, gutting the Utes for 442 yards on the ground in a 52-7 beating that will have the Baylor faithful talking for the entire week.

Terrance Ganaway looked electric throughout his time on the field, rushing for 191 yards on 17 carries along with 3 TDs. Jarred Salubi got a piece of the action, as well. Salubi hammered the Ute defense for 131 yards on only 11 carries with 2 TDs. Robert Griffin III's presence alone seemed to open up holes for running lanes. While he didn't put up much for numbers and stats, him being on the field gave Utah fits all afternoon.

    Player of the game:

    Terrance Ganaway - 17 carries, 191 yards, 3 TD

Bears move to 2-0 with last second field goal

"We can, and will overcome more than just a game in Provo."

Those are the words of Baylor Bears head coach Roy "Sharkdizzle" Baker, who remained adamant about how good his team can be. After Saturday's win, who could blame him?

With the Bears seemingly on the ropes and in danger of losing their 1st game, Robert Griffin worked some 2nd half magic, along side RB Terrance Ganaway and pulled out a tough 27-24 victory that saw Baylor kicker Aaron Jones make a game winning field goal as time expired.

    Player(s) of the Game:

RB Terrance Ganaway - 21 carries, 117 yards, 2 TD
    QB Robert Griffin III - 7/16, 96 yards; 18 carries, 109 yards

Ganaway, Bears 3-0 after thrashing of #21 TCU

Terrance Ganaway is terrorizing defenses, and coach Sharkdizzle couldn't be more pleased.

The Baylor tailback rushed for 176 yards on only 17 carries and scored 4 touchdowns as the Bears beat their 1st ranked opponent and rival, the TCU Horned Frogs, 45-14 in front of a sellout crowd at Floyd Casey Stadium. Baylor, who at one point were actually tied with TCU 7-7, broke out in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, outscoring the Horned Frogs 28-7. The Bears will be Idle next week before a huge showdown with the Nyydus-led Kansas St. Wildcats in the 1st conference game.

    Player of the Game:

    Terrance Ganaway - 17 carries, 176 yards, 4 TD

Bears win at Manhattan, make statement

"Statement win" and "Baylor" usually doesn't mix, but since Bears coach Sharkdizzle arrived on the scene, its been something that you can indeed mix.

After losing Robert Griffin III for the game with a shoulder injury, the Bears' backup QB Nick Florence made clutch plays with his arm, as well as his legs. CB Romie Blaylock had 2 INTs, CB Chance Casey returned a pick for 6 and OLB Ahmad Dixon scooped up a fumble and returned it for 49 yards for the GW-TD to lift the #21 Baylor Bears to a 26-21 win over the Kansas State Wildcats at Manhattan, KS.

    Player of the game:

    Romie Blaylock - 2 INT, 3 Tackles

Last Second FG keeps Baylor undefeated

Coach Sharkdizzle was adamant about big things happening this year. After Saturday, he and his team kept those dreams alive.

The Baylor D forced a huge turnover to get in position for yet another Aaron Jones game winning FG to lift the Bears to a 17-14 win over the Houston Cougars and coach Slick.

Baylor's dream season continues with blowout win at College Station

As if this season for the Baylor Bears needed to make any more of a statement.

Terrance Ganaway continued his Heisman run, rushing for 161 yards with a touchdown and backup RB Jarred Salubi added another 98 rushing yards as the Bears destroyed the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field, 55-13.

Next week the Bears take on the SMU Mustangs.

SMU no match for Baylor in 2nd half

After trailing 14-10 at halftime, most figured coach Sharkdizzle would yell and scream.

    He didn't.

He said one quote: "Bump in the road. They'll never score again."

Correct he was, and Baylor is still undefeated. Terrance Ganaway gashed yet another defense, amassing for 141 rushing yards and a TD as the Baylor offense played nearly flawless in the 2nd half, along with the Baylor D shutting the Mustangs' "Run N Shoot" offense down to a minimum in a 41-14 win over SMU.

    Baylor survives Missouri upset bid

A trap game nearly got the best of the Baylor Bears, but as usual with the way they've played this year, their resilience showed when it was needed most.

After 2 huge turnovers by Robert Griffin that led to defensive TDs by Mizzou (gave them the lead), Griffin led the Bears to 2 season saving touchdowns. One to tie the game, another to win it with only a second left to win 38-31 over Missouri, keeping their National Title hopes alive.

    Baylor too much for KU

Terrance Ganaway was money again. All that needs to be said about the Bears win over Kansas. Baylor QB Robert Griffin completed only one pass out of 8, yet they still won. 2 Jayhawk QBs combined for 1-10 passing vs. a stout Baylor pass D as the Bears pretty much eliminated Kansas from Big 12 title game contention with a 38-24 win, clinching a spot in the big 12 title game.

Player of the Game: Terrance Ganaway - 16 car, 173 yds, 3 TD

Baylor survives Texas, keeps National Title hopes alive

Robert Griffin needed to be the playmaking Robert Griffin vs. Texas. He was just that, and his heroics kept Baylor's dream season alive.

Griffin put up 210 all-purpose yards and made play after play down the stretch with his legs on read options and draw plays to hold off the upset minded Longhorns in Austin, 24-21. Senior tailback and Heisman hopeful Terrance Ganaway had to leave the game with an apparent injury in the 1st quarter, allowing for Griffin to be the Bears leading rusher Saturday.

Baylor's dream season continues on into Lubbock where they look to finish off the season undefeated.

Baylor wins at Lubbock thanks to 6 INTs and Ganaway's 151 yards

Baylor will walk into the Big 12 Championship Game with an undefeated record, and a chance to play for the BCS National Championship.

    Read that again.

    You did. Dream season indeed.

Terrance Ganaway rushed for 151 yards and 2 TDs, and the Baylor defense intercepted Texas Tech QB Seth Doege 6 times as the Bears will continue their improbable run into Arlington for the Big XII title game, after a 45-22 win over the Red Raiders.

Baylor stuns heavy favorite Oklahoma with 4th quarter comeback; Wins Big 12, BCS National Title game bound

"Expect Baylor to be a force. No doubt in my mind that we have the type of team that could go places and make you look twice when you see our namesake."

    - Coach Roy 'sharkdizzle' Baker, when hired at Baylor in January

The Bears, who trailed by 8 in the 4th, scored 11 points in the 4th quarter to shock the nation and beat the Oklahoma Sooners 31-28 to win the Big XII title and earn a spot in the BCS National Championship game in New Orleans vs. #1 Wisconsin.

"We told y'all!", coach Sharkdizzle said proudly after the game. "You believed every week, and THIS IS Bear Country!!!!". Confetti flew around the podium as the Bears celebrated what they hope is their 2nd biggest win in school history.

Robert Griffin, while erratic at times, made the biggest plays when Baylor needed them in the 4th. A 54 yard touchdown pass to Kendall Wright, then the big play to Wright for 30 more to set up the game winning field goal by Aaron Jones as time expired to win the game.

"1 more (expletive) game", coach Baker said. "then, you won't be able to shut me up. EVER!"
