2011 Bayou Bengals The 2011 LSU Tigers open the season ranked #3. After winning the SEC in Coach Maximus' first season, expectations are high. The Title Game loss sticks in the ball coach's craw and this year's squad is definitely aiming to capture the crown. Fierce competitors across the land will be looking to knock them off and the Tigers know success won't come easy. Offensive Playbook: Central Michigan The offense will be lead by SR QB Jordan Jefferson, returning from a season marred by injury. He will be targeting JR WR Reuben Randle and SR TE Deangelo Peterson quite often. LSU will also try to get more out of Jefferson's running abilities. JR HB Michael Ford will get the lion's share of the carries with SR(RS) HB Stevan Ridley spelling him from time to time. Can't forget about the hogmollies though, as they will be the lifeblood of the offense. The brains of the outfit is SR(RS) C T-Bob Hebert. SR(RS) LG Will Blackwell and JR(RS) RG Alex Hurst flank Hebert. JR(RS) RT Greg Shaw and SR(RS) LT Josh Dworaczyk complete the group. None of the lineman is below 90 OVR so they should dominate the trenches this year. Defensive Playbook: 3-4 The Tiger defense is transitioning to a 3-4 this season. SO(RS) DT Chris Davenport is a mountain of a man at 6'4" 330 lbs. He will have to be an anchor in the middle for the new defense to really flow. FR MLB Adam Richardson and JR(RS) MLB Kyle Prater will have room to roam if Davenport, JR(RS) RE Lavar Edwards and SO(RS) LE Sam Montgomery can occupy blockers. SR ROLB Ryan Baker and SR(RS) LOLB Stefan Francois will be called upon often to provide the pass rush. The secondary will rely on JR CB Morris Caliborne and SR SS Brandon Taylor for the big plays. SR(RS) CB Ron Brooks and SO(RS) FS Craig Loston round out the starting defense.
