2011 Big XII Preview(ish) Last year, the Cornhuskers took a rocky road to eventually be crowned Big XII champions. But that is all in the past, as they look to replace several key departures especially at QB and RB. This leaves a void atop the Big XII and there are several teams willing to step up and claim the Big XII title for themselves. Perhaps the team most ready to take this spot is Texas as they return several key players from what was a very tough team last year. Gilbert gained a full year of experience and is set to use that to carry the Longhorns back to a place they seemingly were a given for during the reign of Colt McCoy, the Big XII Title game. Just because Texas has the pieces in place doesn’t mean the rest of the South is going to stand firm and let them walk into the title game. It would seem that Oklahoma will be the team best suited to win the South and picked by most to win the Big XII. This is a tough team that gave a lot of teams trouble last year. The dark horse candidate to win the Big XII would be Texas Tech. This is a team that really put it together towards the end of the season last year. This was no fluke either as demonstrated by the absurd stats this team put up. On paper, this team seemed a shoe in to play for the title, but games are not played on paper. It took awhile for them to piece it altogether and this could be their year. Well, unless A&M has anything to say about it. The Aggies are replacing their QB as well, but I don’t think that’s going to slow down what Dean has going on in College Station. The Aggies proved to be a tough test last year and with another year of experience anything can happen. Especially, with the talent fields of Texas where they can reload seemingly year in and year out. Let the discussion begin... ***Sorry this is late and not as detailed as I would like, but the damn Dynasty Wire site seems to be down.
