After a dissapointing 2010 season of a bearly bowl elligible 6-6 record, and a season ending bowl loss to UCF that we played great defense, but tied for the worst offensive game of our season, we are looking for a big year. Even though we bearly were bowl eligible last year, we have a great set of guys including our sophomore QB who now has his feet under himself and is 100% ready for the challenge. Offense As a way of fixing some of our offensive woes from last year, we are switching over from a Pro style offense, to the New-Age Pistol offense. With this formation we plan on pounding the ground with Isaiah Crowell, who as a Freshman, I have talked to and he is perfectly ready to take on the challenge. We will try not to rely only on the run though, because he is a freshman and we do not want ALL of the pressure of our offense to be on his back. We will though, be getting him as many touches this season as possible, so that he will grow into a pistol-style back that can pound the middle, and get to the outside as well. Defense Last years losing season was unnacceptable, and while a lot of the part of this losing season was not on our defense, our defense is ready to step up and take on the challenge. We are using a 3-4 defense this year, that is ready to be the best run stopping 3-4 defense to ever play at the college football level. We are going to be devoted to stopping the run first. Our philosophy is that if we can force them to throw the ball too much, they WILL make mistakes and we WILL capitalize on it. We are going to limit the mistakes on offense because we believe that this defense this year will be able to keep us in every game that we play. We are going to play Hard-Nosed, face-pounding defense that will make sure that the offense does not even want to come back onto the field for there next possession.
