    2011 Maize and Blue Review

The Michigan Wolverines begin the 2011 with a 28 - 3 victory over the Pitt Panthers in the Big House. The sole score in the first frame came on a 71 yd pick six by nickel back JT Turner. After that the teams traded punts until true freshman Ken Marshall sparked the Michigan offense as he entered the game and racked up 81 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in three quarters. After struggling to run the ball last season the Wolverines will need to build a strong rushing attack to take pressure off their defense.

Speaking of defense, the Michigan defense held Pitt to 140 yards from scrimmage. Defensive tackle tandem William Campbell and Mike Martin combined for 16 tackles, eight of which were TFL, and 6 sacks. Campbell earned Wolverine of the game honors for her dominance.
