    Week 5 : Ole Miss 33 - Fresno State 17

The Rebels travled across the country to the Golden State for a clash with the Bulldogs of Fresno State. This game was dominated by the defense of Ole Miss holding the Bulldogs to just 17 points on offense as well as put up 14 points on the board.

The 1st QTR's only scoring play was a field goal for Ole Miss. The Fresno Bulldogs responded with 14 unanswered points in the

2nd QTR and things were looking grim for the Rebels looking to avoid their 3rd straight loss. Just before halftime the Rebel defense stepped up with an INT returned for a TD by CB K. Horine and a fumble on a Fresno State option play returned for a TD by CB F. Campbell.

The second half began with a Ole Miss Touchdown pass to WR V. Sanders from N. Stanley. This would be the only scoring play of the 3rd QTR and the only touchdown scored by the Ole Miss offense.

The 4th QTR was dominated by defense and special teams. Fresno State was able to open up the 4th QTR with a Field goal bring the Bulldogs within 7 of the Rebels. But that would be it for the Bulldogs on the scoreboard as the Ole Miss defense shut them down for the rest of the game while Ole Miss put of 3 consectutive field goals.

POG: Ole Miss K B. Rose 4/4 FG and 3/3 PAT for a total of 15 Points.

Stat of the Game: Ole Miss had 1 TD and 2 FG in 4 Red Zone appearances. While only allowing Fresno State in the Red Zone once.

Ole Miss will have to take advantage of Red Zone appearances to succeed in the future.

    WEEK 6 : Vanderbilt 42- Ole Miss 39

This battle took place in the music capital of the world Nashville, TN against Vanderbilt. The Rebels couldn't pull out a last second win to fall to 2-3. Offense prevailed in this game as the points came in bunches.

Nate Stanley played a steller game at QB with a rating of 195.8 for 408 YDS, 4 TD, and 1INT. RB Enrique Davis had a solid game in his first game after being out for 4 weeks with an injury. Davis ran 13 times for 71 YDS and punched 1 TD in from the goaline. WR V. Sanders was Stanley go-to target with 6 REC for 97 YDS and 2 TDs.

The Rebel defense could not match the stellar performance of the offense. CB K. Horine had a solid game leading the team with 7 TKLS and 2 INT. Overall the defense gave up 523 YDS of total offense, 339 of which were passing YDS and 3 rushing TDs.

    Week 7: Alabama 52 - Ole Miss 20

The Rebels returned to Oxford after 3 games on the road to battle the Crimson Tide of Alabama. Nick Saban's squad game to play despite the roaring Rebel faithful. Alabama put up huge numbers on the ground showing no mercy for what we all thought was a solid Rebel defense.

Nate Stanley, QB for Ole Miss, had a second consecutive impressive start. Stanley racked up a 104 QB RTG with 426 YDS passing and 3 TDs. His main target, TE F. Allen. Allen had a career day and cause trouble for the 'Bama Defense catching 10 balls for 184YDS receiving and 3 TDs. The Ole Miss running game was abandoned after 2 early fumbles my Enrique Davis.

Not much to talk about as far as defense goes in this one. The rebel defense mustered up 2 INTs but the run defense was swiss cheese. Allowing 349 YDS and 6 TDs on the ground. Mark Ingram ran all over the rebels for 250 yards and 5 TDs.

    Ole Miss 24 - Arkansas 14

Ole Miss was able to pick up a big conference win this week againt the Razorbacks from Arkansas. The site: Oxford Stadium in front of 60,000+ screaming Rebel faithful. This was a hard fought battle between both teams where defense dominated much of the game. In the 4th quarter Ole Miss was finally able to break open the game.

On offense the Rebels weren't able to get much of a passing game going as they have over the past two weeks. Nate Stanley, who has passed for nearly 900 yds over the past 2 weeks, had a dismal game with a QB RTG of 69.3 on 156 YDS and 2 picks. RB Enrique Davis along with RB Rodney Scott were able to shoulder the load on offense. Davis ran 28 times for a 156 YDS and 1 TD. The game was tied at 7 when the Razorbacks put together a drive in the 3rd and were able to punch it in for 6 making 14-7 Arkansas. On the ensuing kick-off, Rodney Scott broke the kick coverage open, and took it to the house as the crowd at Oxford shook the whole state of Mississippi. Late in the 4th Enrique Davis busted a 62 yd run down to the Arkansas 1 yd line where Scott punched it in from there. TE F Allen was the leading reciever for the Rebels for the second week in a row with 4 catches for 52 YDS.

The Ole Miss defense look much better in this win than they did against Alabama last week holding Arkansas to just 14 points. CB K. Horine had a big INT in the first stopping what looked to be a promising Razorback drive cold. OLB Joel Kight was flying all over the field with 9 TKLS and a sack.

    OLE MISS 20 - Miss. State 3

The Rebel defense came to play on Saturday as they went into Davis Wade Stadium and dominated the Miss State offense in front of a capacity crowd. This is seen by Rebel fans as a small step into rebuilding this program during a disappointing year. The Bulldogs were held to only 239 yards of total offense while Rebel offense piled up 399 yards. The Rebels pounded the rock rushing 39 times for an average of nearly 5 yards a carry! Rodney Scott the RB lead the team with 165 yards on the ground and 2 TD's. Nate Stanley had a quiet day through the air with only 111 yards passing with 1 INT. Star OLB Joel Kight lead the team with 4 tackles on defense while Wayne Dorsey Jr. had another big day adding 2 sacks to his total. Ole Miss 31 - Oklahoma State 27

The Rebels were able to string together 2 victories in a row to close out the season with a win over Oklahoma State with in come-from-behind fashion down in Stillwater. It didn't look good for the Rebels early as the cowboys jumped out to a 17-0 lead. Then 2 consecutive INTs resulted in 14 quick points for the Rebels. Enrique Davis had to replace starting RB Rodney Scott for injury. He stepped up big time with 22 rushes for 114 yards and 3 TDs. QB Nate Davis had a subpar game passing with 161 yards and 3 INTs.
On defense things look shakey at first for the Rebels giving up 17 unanswered points. Then 2 INTS, one of which was returned for a touchdown got the rebels back in the game. The feared Rebel pass rush was able to get to the Cowboy QB 3 times with Wanye Dorsey Jr. adding another sack to his season total. Even though the defense gave up 584 yards of total offense, the Rebels were still able to get the win.
With this win the Rebels keep their hopes of a bowl game alive.

Player of the Game: RB ENRIQUE DAVIS
