    Pitt-49
    Buff-0

The debut for Head Coach Gerry Solomon turned out to be a good one for his team. From the opening kickoff the Panthers appeared to dwarf over their opponents. They were faster, bigger and stronger. They jumped out to an early 14-0 1st qtr advantage and never looked back. With a 49-0 half time lead the Panthers came out in full ball control mode in the 2nd half. Pitt's starting QB was only required to attempt 9 passes completing 7 of them and 4 of them going for TDs. Pitt got most of their 531 yds in the 1st half. The panther defense showed up to play too. They allowed a total of 80 yds on D with 2ints.

    Pitt Game Balls:
Off: QB Sunseri 7-9 233 yds 4tds passing 1td rushing
Def: Everybody 2sacks, 2ints, 80 yds allowed,-9yds allowed on ground

    Pitt-38 (2-0)
    NCST-25

Both offenses stumbled coming out of the gate in the 1st quarter but an offensive outburst in the 2nd quarter led to about half of the games total points. NCST scored with 33 seconds left in the first qtr to take the first lead of the game. Pitt responded quickly to tie it up in the second quarter. With just over 2 mins until the half NCST kicked a FG to take a 10-7 lead. The last 36 seconds of the half a total of 21 pts were scored. Pitt scored a TD with 36 seconds left. NCST took their next drive and scored with 4 seconds left to play. A squib kick after the TD gave Pitt one desperation heave to score as time expired before the half. Halftime score: Pitt- 21 NCST-17
Pitt would never lose the lead from that point and held on to a 13 point victory.

    Pitt Game Balls:

The Panther defense did everything they could to keep them in this game but the offense was about worthless. The Irish jumped out to a 17-0 lead early in the 2nd qtr. Offensive turnovers forced the defense to defend a short field early and often. The Panthers were able to rally and pull the game to within 7pts at the half, 17-10. But once again short fields allowed the Irish to put up 14 more in the 3rd and 7 in the 4th. The Panther D forced 4 turnovers (3ints, 1 fumble) but the offense was not able to capatilize and also gave the ball up 5 times. Pitt's offense was held to a total of 142yds of offense.

    PITT-26 (3-1)
    USF-24

The Pitt Panthers led this game from the first drive but never felt like they were in complete control. After taking a 10-0 lead the Panthers allowed USF to tie it up at 10-10. Pitt put up 10 more before the half to go up 20-10. A FG to start the 2nd half put them up by 13. The Bulls held Pitt to another FG while scoring a TD of their own. With just over 4 mins left in the game the Bulls scored again to bring it to within 2 points. They were able to force a punt with about 2mins left but were unsuccessful in their 2 minute drive. The Panthers get the win but have to feel somewhat disappointed. They had numerous times to put this game away but were never able to go for the kill shot. They were forced into kicking 4 FGs in the game while only scoring 2 TDs.

The Pitt offense never seemed fully in sync in this game. The passing offense was shut down from the very beginning. They tried using the rush to open up to pass but never quite could get it down. Though the number suggest otherwise the offense was off all game. Pitt put up 10 pts in the 1st qtr. Most of their success in the 1st qtr was due to their RB Graham who had 8 carries for 105 yds and 1TD in that qtr. He only finished with 11 carries for 132 yds due to an injury he sustained early in the 2nd qtr. After he went down the Pitt offense went cold. Pitt turned the ball over 3 times in the 1st half and 2 of them were INTs in the end zone. The Panther D was solid all game allowing 140yds on the ground and 84 through the air. After scoring 10 in the first qtr both teams were held scoreless until the 2nd half. The Scarlett Knight came out on fire in the 3rd qtr putting up 14pts and taking the lead by 4. In the 4th qtr Pitt started with the ball but had to punt at midfield with just over 5 mins left to play. Rutgers than ran the clock down to about 2mins left when they were forced to punt. The passing game for Pitt hit full stride on the final drive marching 86yds for the winning TD with 24 secs remaining in the game.

    PITT Game Balls:
    OFF: HB Graham 11 for 132 1TD
DEF: MLB Gruder 5 tackles, 1TFL 1forced fumble

The Pittsburgh Panthers just came out flat in all aspects of the game. The offense only racked up 237 total yards of offense. 3 turnovers were committed by the QB in the first half. Pitt got down early by 14 in the first qtr and were down 20-0 with just over 6 minutes to go in the game the panthers finally decided to play. They were only able to put up 15 pts and allowed a safety to secure the loss.

The Pitt Panthers took control of this game early and never looked back. It all started with a dominating defense and a ball control offense. The Panthers got on the board one time in the 1st qtr and two more in the 2nd. They went to half time with a 21-0 lead. The Bearcats were able to put up 10 in the 3rd qtr but also allowed the Panthers to score 21 more. The Pitt defense was solid in only allowing 205 yds of total offense. The forced 6 turnovers and recorded 6 sacks. The offense wasn't asked to do alot as they were given pretty decent field position most of the game.

The Pitt Panthers defense started the scoring off in this game on the opening drive. A fumble recovery on just the second play of the game was returned for a TD giving Pitt the early 7-0 lead. They were able to score another TD in the 1st QTR giving them a 14-0 after one. The offense came out on fire in the 2nd qtr putting up 24 pts. Louisville was able to get on the board early in the 2nd qtr making it a 38-3 halftime lead. By the 4th qtr a 38-8 score allowed the Panthers to allow some backups to get in and play. The Panthers put up 492yds of total offense and forced 5 turnovers on defense.
