Newly signed Coach Screw went right to work with his new team. Without much time to practice, the Warhawks put together a nice win against their rivals. The freshman RB took to the ground with ferocity carrying 22 times for 159 yards and a TD. It was nice for the new coach to see such great running from his backup RB who will be with the team for 4 more years.

    Idaho 42
    SJSU 31

Coach Worgum talked the talk, and his team walked the walk. After the Spartans returned the opening kickoff, the Vandals responded with a 13 yard TD with Princeton McCarty. San Jose responded with a touchdown on a 15 yard TD pass from Blake Jurich to Ray Rodriguez. Then Idaho started imposing their will scoring on back to back touchdowns, with the big play coming on a Brian Reader to Armanui Johnson 46 yard TD pass.

Then in the second half, San Jose was able to take the lead back on a big 80 yard TD run by Brandon Rutley. But luckily for the Vandals, the Sparatans secondary was lousy. The Vandals took the lead back on a 43 yard TD pass from Brian Reader to Justin Veltung. Then later in the quarter, Princeton McCarty scored on a 3 yard TD run. The Vandals clinched the game in the fourth quarter when Matthew Harvey intercepted a pass and took it back 87 yards for the score.

I don't generally put up the stats on this game, but for this one I will:

    Passing
UI: Brian Reader 14-25-316 2 TDs
SJSU: Blake Jurich 4-14-66 yards, 1 TD, 2 Int., and Matt Faulkner 2-6-32 yards

    Rushing
UI: Princeton McCarty 25-102 yards, 2 TDs (these were hard earned yards)
SJSU: Brandon Rutley 14-189 1 TD

    Receiving
    UI: Justin Veltung 6-124- 1TD
    SJSU: Ray Rodriguez 2-31-1 TD

recchem2000 good game. Again tell your wife I am sorry.

Don't worry about it...I was just giving you shit in the other league. She'll get over it :) Good game man. My passing stunk up the joint but they have all season! Can't hit the ocean from a boat with any of my 3 QB's.
