WMU finally gets in the win column. The Broncos started with a 59 yard Drake TD run on their first offensive play. It was all Broncs from there. QB Carder threw 3 TDs and this time only one, yes one, interception off a bad read on a bubble screen. The defense stepped up huge also. DE Bishop scored off of a fumble recovery and DT Nowak recorded 5 sacks on the day. Next up is the triple option attack of Army.

    Western Michigan 43 - Central Michigan 20

This game was not even as close the score indicates. If the Vandals could have converted on a couple of turnovers in the first half the score might have been like 55-7. The Vandals defense picked off WSU QB Jeff Tuel 5 times, taking two of the interceptions for scores. In addition RB Princeton McCarty rushed for 186 yards and scored 1 TD on 21 carries. The Vandals thoroughly dominated the outmatched Cougars. Up next the Vandals host Fresno State in the Kibbie Dome.

Better known as the WAC title game right Forest? Or are you concerned with Nevada as well?

I should be concerned with Nevada. I forget that they have built a pretty decent program over the past few years. That might actually be the WAC title game. Fresno was dominate in last year's game, so I think Fresno may be tough as well.

FIU gets a big home win against UCF 41-20. FIU HB Darriet Perry put the FIU offense on his back and ran for over 200 yards and 2 touchdowns, he also had over 50 yards receiving and a TD catch. FIU is now 2-1 on the year and next week they have another winable game against UL Lafayette.

Memphis gets their first win under their new coach. Memphis dominated the game overall but didn't convert all of their chances. Connecticut scored only on big plays. Memphis lost their starting QB (again) to a concussion, so the back up came in and lead the Tigers to a win.

    Memphis 31
    Connecticut 24

I may just be able to avoid a firing this season.

    Nevada - 25
    SJSU - 23

San Jose does little on offense yet again, scoring on a FG, a kick return, a hail marry and a fumble return. We had a chance late but another pick ended any hope of a game winning FG. State falls to 0-3 and coach Chem is starting to feel the heat! Up next, a game we could possibly win as the Aggies of New Mexico State come to San Jose for another WAC game.

    SJSU Stats
QB Matt Faulkner 14/31 171 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT
HB Brandon Rutley 11 carries, 49 yards
TE Ray Rodriguez 5 catches, 65 yards
OLB Keith Smith 9 Tackles, 4 TFL

Middle Tennessee State gets 1st win

    MTSU: 21
    Utah State: 16

It wasnt pretty, but the Blue Raiders were able to get their first win of the season 21-16 over utah State. After a beautiful punt hit the pilon, Utah State would be unable to get out of the endzone on the ensuing draw play which led to a safety. MTSU would add a field goal before the end of the quarter and would carry an 11-10 lead into the break. The only MTSU touchdown would occur in the third, on a pick 6 by Dixon. The 31 yard return would give Middle Tennessee a 18-10 lead, which would not be in doubt the rest of the game.

Next up for Middle Tennessee: A Sun Belt Showdown with Troy

    MTSU State Player Stats:
    J. Murphy: 3-8 passing, 33 yards
    D. Kyles: 30 carries, 90 yards

    Tulane - 24
    UAB - 17

Once again great defense plus horrendous offense equals loss. A fumble as I was going in for a touchdown that was pick up by the safety and ran back for a TD.Then of the numerous int one was a pick 6. But due to my stellar defense which gave me great field position all game long that I didn't capitalize on until late I managed to come back and tie the game in the 4th but Tulane drive which included 2 key qb scrambles sealed the deal as they win 24 - 17.

Could we possibly do the advance? I am going to a Brazilian steakhouse for dinner, so I'll be in a meat coma the rest of the evening and won't be able to see what happens with recruits. So if the wife could hop on it now that would be awesome.

    Army 21
    Arkansas St 17

    Army Outlast Late Surge

Army jumped out to a 21 to 7 lead and held off Arkansas St who put up a 10 point 4th quarter. The Red Wolves had their chances late forcing a kickout fumble in the forth then being held to a FG to cut the army lead to 4 points. Army's next drive stalled and Ark St got the ball down four with 3 minutes remaining down 4. Army Stopped Ark St on 4th down and converted enough first downs to run out the clock.

Star Army Fullback Jared Hassin decided to ignore his 3 week abdominal strain, and suit up this weekend for Army like the injury had never happened. Hassin banged out 99 yards and a TD on 8 rushes.

Another beautiful bug from EA...only the commish's injuries stick, all the other disappear when you advance. You gotta love it!
