    New Mexico State - 24
    San Jose State - 44

The Spartans finally get in the W column against the Aggies in conference play. SJSU was trailing at halftime in this one 17-14. A rousing speech by coach Rec Chem fired up the Spartans, who responded by outscoring the Aggies 30-7 in the 2nd half. Turnovers were a big part of this one, as the Spartans returned a fumble and an interception for touchdowns (that seems to be my best offense with these guys). Total yards were pretty close, SJSU amassed 281 while NMSU got 277. The Spartans and coach Chem will take any win they can get at this point and look to improve in the coming weeks.

    SJSU Stats
QB Matt Faulkner 12/26 172 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT
HB Brandon Rutley 20 carries, 95 yards, 0 TD
WR Chandler Jones 3 catches, 57 yards, 1 TD
CB Peyton Thompson 11 Tackles, 1 INT

Lets shoot for a quick week...try your best to knock these games out tomorrow. Yes I know its Darr's B-Day but before you get blitzed, play your game :)

    Happy Birthday Darr!

Oh, I forgot, summaries, lets see them. Dont have to be much, just a few lines about your game. That is all, carry on.

Idaho tried valiantly to take down the Bulldogs, but it was simply not enough. The Vandals defense and special teams simply could not make enough plays as Fresno's seemingly had great field position all day long. It seemed like they started past their 40 yard line all day, and the defense could never get them off the field. HB Princeton McCarty had another huge day on the ground rushing for 192 yards, and scoring 1 TD on a 80 yard run. However, James Reader just didn't make good decisions he threw three picks with his last one occurring with a 1:30 remaining in the game in the end zone.

    Colorado st 20
    Utah st 24

Thanks to a solid defensive effort Utah st got its first W of the year. It took a 80 yard strike from Kennedy to Xavier Martin with only :36 left in the game for Aggies to take it first lead of the game and prevail with the victory. The defense only allowed 120 total offense for the game. Forcing the Rams into many 3 and long plays. Aggies look to even there record at 2-2 next week when Wyoming visits Utah st.

Arkansas State came out of the gate hot. Their first play was a 76 yard run by Lawson giving them a first and goal and the very next play Lawson finished what he started and punched the ball in for his first of three touchdowns on the day. The defense also pitched in scoring two touchdowns, one on a fumble recovery and the other on an interception. The only bright spot for NIU was their running back who went for a rushing and receiving touchdown. Arkansas State again looks to go above five hundred next week.

    UL Laf 6

The Golden Panthers notch another win, and are now 3-1 on the year after dominating UL Lafayette 35-6. Starting FIU HB Darriet Perry pounded out 87 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter before getting hurt for the game, and backup HB Darian Mallary picked up where Perry left off. Mallary finished with 145 yards rushing and 86 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns and was named player of the game. The FIU defense played phenomenal and held UL Lafayette to under 215 yards on the day.

Next week FIU goes on the road to take on Western Michigan.

Triple Overtime Thriller at Michie Stadium

Defensive struggle between the Black Knights and Western Michigan goes to triple overtime. even with 3 overtimes both teams were held to less than 275 yards of total offense. Every first down in regulation was a battle. Western Michigan missed a 50 yard FG at the end of regulation by a few feet and the game went into overtime.

Army won the toss but but could not capitalize on holding Western Michigan to a FG. In the second over time the teams traded Touchdowns.

Western Michigan started with the ball on the 3rd overtime and immediately connected on a 25 yard TD pass. Western Michigan went for play action on the 2 point try, QB Alex Carder had his man wide open in the flat but could not escape the weak side OLB coming on the blitz. Army started their next possession with a false start and a no gain. Facing 2nd and long, FB Jared Hassin broke off a 30 yard TD run. On the PAT the Black Knights went back to the FB on the option and Hassin Powered through the Defensive line for the Game winning conversion.

*note: Army made a huge mistake trying out their new Camo uniforms as they were hard to distinguish from the West Mich Away uniforms.

It was a great game. I shouldnt have called tha draw play right before my last FG attempt. Those couple of feet I lost might have been enough to get the ball between the uprights

    What Happened?

    Troy: 70
    Middle Tennessee State: 21

"What Happened?" That is the question all 20 MTSU fans in the country are asking after a devastating road loss to Troy. The Blue Raiders controlled action for much of the first half - even having the lead for a good chunk of it. With about 2 minutes or so left, the wheels fell off the bus. impact halfback DD Kyles was injured. The back up would fumble one of the ensuing handoffs, and the fumble would be returned for a TD. MTSU's next drive would be intercepted, and shortly there after Troy would score again to take a 14 point lead into the break.

the Trojans got the ball to start the second half, and made quick work of the Blue Raider defense. less than 1 minute into the third, Troy held a 35-14 lead. MTSU would go 3 and out on their opening drive of the second half, giving the ball back to Troy who would score... again. By this point, the aforementioned bus had crashed into a cliff at 90 mph, killing all passengers inside. From here on out, it gets fuzzy.... but it got ugly.
