2011 SEC Preview(ish) The Crimson Tide looked absolutely dominant during the regular season last year. It seemed as if they were going to continue rolling right on through to the National Title game. That was until Florida reminded them that the SEC is one of the most competitive conferences in the nation. The upset of Alabama helped redeem the Gators’ season after a rough start to the season, where they lost three consecutive games. However, this year’s Gators are going to be quite different than the previous year’s due to several key departures to the NFL. How Florida performs will hinge on how well Coach Meyer recruited. Another team that seems ready to throw their hat into the SEC title race is Auburn. This is a very well coached team with lots of talent. It’s going to be a matter of putting it altogether on a consistent basis. The road is going to be tough for any team to win this conference. The key is going to be who can hold on, rather than who can win it. A team with enough talent on the defensive side of the ball to perhaps challenge for the title is LSU. This was a team that was an enigma last year, as they looked impressive against Auburn but would disappear in other games. If they can put everything together, this is a team that could be setting their sites on more than the SEC title. Last, we introduce the newcomer to this conference in Georgia. This is a team that has stockpiled talent for the last few years, but has not been able to put together a successful team on the field. Perhaps, the new coach will be the one to do what his predecessors have been unable. Especially, if this team can establish their passing game as they have some of the most talented receivers in the nation.
