In 2010, the Stanford Cardinal celebrated their best season in some time (1999) with a 40-12 win over Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl. Jim Harabaugh decided to take his coaching talents to the NFL and coach the 49ers.

Enter Roy "Tha Shark" Baker, a coach who's known for his "Misdirection 'N' Motion" offense and "Two-Five" defensive scheme.

Q: Explain what the "Two-Five" is for your defense?

A: Well, it's simple. Throughout a game, we want to show you 25 different looks. If we use 25 separate formations defensively, the offensive line and quarterback figure to have issues.

Baker also vowed to make life a living hell for defenses.

Q: You have this offensive scheme known as Misdirection N Motion. Care to elaborate?

A: I think sending players in motion takes defenders out of their comfort zone. It's all deception. If we can get players moving, we might get some one uncomfortable. All it takes is one screw up by the defense, and we might get a huge play out of this.

A quote after this interview was very telling of what Baker believes will happen.

"We'll have the coach of the year, Heisman, and national title."

Stanford hammers Ohio State, ascend to #1

Andrew Luck and the Cardinal started their march to a National Championship with a statement win over Ohio State. How big a statement? Try a rout at the Horseshoe.

Luck passed for 174 yards, completing 11 of 15 passes and a TD, while Stephan Taylor added 92 yards rushing, and Chris Owusu sliced the Buckeye D with 149 yards receiving in a collective effort that sent Stanford to not only a 28-6 win, but also a #1 ranking after the upsets that happened in week 1.

    Player(s) of the game -

    Andrew Luck - 11/15, 174 yards, TD
    Stephan Taylor - 22 car, 92 yards, 2 TD
    Chris Owusu - 6 rec, 149, TD

Stanford forces 6 turnovers, handle Clemson

It was the Cardinal defense that was the top story in Stanford, CA on Saturday.

Barry Browning interception for 60 yards and a TD started the dissection of Clemson QB Taji Boyd as he was picked 6 times by the Stanford D and Stanford's offense, while quiet for the most part, saw Stephan Taylor rack up another 90 yard game, as the Cardinal handled yet another quality opponent by beating Clemson, 26-14.

    Player(s) of the game -

The Stanford D - 6 INT, Def. TD, held Clemson to 12% efficiency on 3rd downs.

Yeah your defense was ridiculous. I suck at passing but have never thrown that many picks in a single game.

Taylor, Defense rule the day in rout of Arizona

Stephan Taylor rushed for 128 yards and 2 TDs, and the Stanford 'D' shut the Wildcats offense down, only allowing 105 total yards in a 27-3 rout of Arizona on Saturday afternoon in front of 49,816 at Stanford Stadium. Heisman hopeful Andrew Luck didn't have a great game (14/25, 97 yds, TD, INT), but was efficient, especially on 3rd down.

Player of the game - Stephan Taylor - 24 car, 128 yds, 2 TD

Stanford shrugs off slow start, denies Utah of upset bid

After Utah CB Conroy Black returned an Andrew Luck INT for a 69 yard touchdown return, coach Roy "Tha Shark" Baker held a team huddle near the Stanford sideline. Cameras saw him trying to fire up his Cardinal team, who at the time trailed by 10 with a little more than a minute to go.

    What happened, you ask?

By halftime, they had the lead and never looked back.

Stephan Taylor returned the ensuing kickoff after the Luck INT for 101 yards, rushed for a TD after a turnover, and PK Eric Whitaker kicked a 51 yard field goal as time expired in the 1st half to turn what looked like a potential upset into another day at the office for Stanford, as they beat Utah, 34-17.

    Player of the game:

Stephan Taylor - 23 car, 147 yds, 2 TD; 2 rec, 19 yds; 101-yd KO Return for TD

    Luck watch:

    7/13, 75 yds, TD, INT

Very good game Shark, after that INT, I thought I had the momentum going but that KO return sunk the Utes ship! Here are some highlights.
