USC opens up with a win over the Golden Gophers of Minnesota

Turnovers nearly cost the Men of Troy their opening game. USC opened up a 24-7 lead going heading into the second half but the first two possessions of the second half for the Men of Troy resulted in turnovers that led to Minnesota pulling within 2 and then USC pulled away before a garbage time touchdown was scored by Minnesota. Matt Barkley threw for 230 and a TD and SR RB Marc Tyler had a breakout game rushed 26 times for 175 yards and 4 TDs to seal the victory for the home fans and USC. USC will remain at home for next week where they will take on new conference foe Utah.

USC has no problems with division foe ASU with a 30-14 win

The Trojans were once again led by SR RB Marc Tyler as he carried the rock 35 times for 180 yards. USC was never behind in the game and the closest the Sun Devils came was within 7 points and the Sun Devils didn't have an answer for Marc Tyler and Matt Barkley who went 10 for 16 for 115 yards a TD. The Men of Troy were led by WR Robert Woods who had 3 receptions for 63 yards. The Trojans were dominant in this win although if USC wants a chance at the Pac 12 title, they'll need to clean up the offensive line issues as five sacks were given up and Barkley didn't have time to set his feet and make a good throw but was bailed out by his receivers multiple times. Next week the Men of Troy will return home and take on South division foe Arizona.

USC silences a crowd of 81,000 to the tune of a 31-21 win

In a snowy day in Notre Dame, USC came out of the tunnel and was firing on cylinders throughout the 1st half and took a 21-0 lead into the locker room, unfortunatly though USC could not keep up the momentum they carried throughout the first half of the game. USC went into the half after a 62 Yd bomb thrown by Barkley to Carswell. USC was lead by RB Marc Tyler who rushed 28 times for 139 Yds and 2 TDs and surpassed the 1000 Yd mark midway through the third quarter. QB Matt Barkley went 8 for 16 for 155 Yds and 2 TD tosses. Both teams had issues passing the ball in the snowy conditions as WRs and TEs were slipping and falling down on nearly every route which led to the RBs taking over the game. Next week the Men of Troy return home to take on Andrew Luck and the #12 Stanford Cardinals.
