The Utes will be led by QB Jordan Wyn and the running attack of HBs John White and Thretton Palamo. The defense will be very solid, also led by MLB Chaz Walker

The Utes will run the Utah playbook on offense and the 4-3 on defense.

    Offense:

QB:JR RS Jordan Wyn combines great athleticism and a good arm to lead the Utes onto the field. His health is of a premium as the Utes only carry 2 QBs, with RS FR Tyler Shreve as his backup.

RB: The strongest position on the field. RB John White will see the bulk of playing time, with HB Thretton Palamo getting alot of carries as well. HB Lucky Radley will also get alot of RS and 3rd down duties. FB Karl Williams will handle the blocking duties.

WR: RS FR Dres Anderson and RS JR DeVonte Christopher will be the starting WRs, with RS JR Luke Matthews seeing time in the slot. The Utes are loaded with other young wideouts fighting for playing time.

TE: RS TE Ken Moeai is a huge threat in the red zone and a great safety valve for Jordan Wyn. JR Rogers Dallin will be the backup.

OL: The OL will line up like this:

    LT: John Cullen SR
    LG: Sam Brenner JR
    C: Tevita Stevens RS JR
    RG: Perry Taumoelau RS JR
    RT: Tony Bergstrom SR

    PK: Nick Marsh RS SO

    Defense:

    DL: LE: Tevita Finau JR
    DLT: James Aino SR
    DRT: Dave Kruger RS JR
    RE: Derrick Shelby SR
The Utes will lose 2 DE's so signing 3 will be a priority in the offseason.

LB: LOLB: Matt Martinez RS SR
MLB : Chaz Walker RS SR
    ROLB : Brian Blechen SO

DB: CB Conroy Black RS SR
    FS Mike Walker RS SO
    SS Greg Bird RS SR
    CB Ryan Lacy JR
    NB Reggie Topps RS JR

P: Sean Sellwood willl handle the kicking and punting.

    Week 2:

    Utah: 30 (OT)
    TTU: 24

The Utes should go out and buy a lottery ticket as the luck was entirely on their side in this game. The Raiders, led by Coach Icey, came out with a balanced attack and scored 2 TDs on the ground to go to a 14-0 lead. The first score was a very nive run by HB Aaron Crawford.

Early in the second quarter, the first of 3 bad injuries hit the Utes. QB Jordan Wyn, flushed out of the pocket and down the sideline for 39 yards before being hit OOB close to the red zone. The problem lied in that Wyn didnt get up. He was KOed out of the game with a concussion. The Utes managed to get a FG to cut the lead to 14-3 before half time.

With QB Tyler Shreve at the helm, the Utes came on their own big play, courtesy of RB John White:

That brought the lead to 14-10. RB Thretton Palamo added a 4 yard TD run before the end of the 3rd quarter to give Utah their first lead of the game. Then RB John White was KOed for a quarter, which gave Palamo a chance to pound the TTU defense. He had to because before the 3rd quarter ended, QB Tyler Shreve went out with a shoulder injury, which left CB Ryan Lacey to fill in at QB.

The Raider would score 10 points on a 9 yard pass from QB Seth Doege to Alex Torres and a FG to give them the lead 24-17. The Utes would run the ball inside by Palamo to finish with a 3 yard TD rush to send the game into OT. The Raiders woulkd get the ball first but would turn the ball over on their third "fumble" of the game and Palamo would add his 3rd TD of the day for the win.

I have to say that Icey fully deserved to win this game. The game produced some very questionable fumbles, such as a leaping catch and the ball came out before he hit the ground, which should have been an Incomplete pass. I feel bad for Coach Icey and his troops and will grant him a rematch next season!

    Great Job Icey!!
