    2011 War Eagle Game Summaries

    -Jordan Hare Stadium

Coach JD's first game was a wild one as the Tigers hosted the #7 Florida Gators. The first quarter saw the Gators go up by 14 as Chris Rainey and UF signal caller John Brantley both ran in for 6. However Jordan Hare Stadium erupted as Adams returned the 98 yard kickoff to bring back some momentum to the tigers.

Aurburn would go scoreless in the second, UF would not as Andre Debose took it 45 yards off a pass from Brantley for another Gator TD.

Auburn would again swing momentum as McCalebb would go 1 yard on 1st and goal for the score.

UF would have to settle for a FG in the 4th, and Auburn got Jordan Hare rocking once again as Rollison hooked up with Adams for a 63 yard TD strike with 2:39 left. Auburn would get one last chance with 1:05 left, but a pick would end their hopes of the upset as UF knocks off the Tigers 24-21

Coach JD had this to say, "being my first game here, I can't wait to start learning more about the Tigers offense, and we will be considering a switch to a 3-4 come next season. We're excited to be part of The Rise and teams better look out for us. War Eagle.

Coming off a heartbreaking defeat last week, Auburn looked to start winning against "The Ol Ball Coach" Steve Spurrier. Auburn drove down the field on the opening possession but had to settle for a field goal. It would be the only points they would score until 55 seconds before halftime.

In the second quarter the Gamecocks came out swinging as Garcia would throw for 3 TD's and the Gamecocks defense would snag another 6 off a poorly thrown pass from Rollison. With less than a minute the Tigers connected on a 28 yard field goal to make it 28-6.

In the third it was all auburn as Rollison would find Benton and Blake for TD's.

The fourth quarter would see Aurburn get within two points of the lead but Garcia would throw for one more putting the game out of reach as Auburn remains winless in their conference.
