In a week chalk full of big games, the Night Owls are in "Separation Week" mode. The upsets have been limited this year, but teams have jumped rank with some big wins, to the confusion of some coaches. In the first week of conference play, however, based on matchups, we may get a clearer picture of why the pollsters have teams where they are.

In dominating fashion, Texas A&M put their 3 weeks of preparation to use, upsetting Oklahoma State by a 28-0 margin. The coaches were extremely happy by the balance and results on third down, after making a point over the off weeks to help their offense be more explosive in such situations. 7 for 12 the team went, helping A&M to keep the ball for nearly 2/3 of the game.

OSU had a difficult time after its first drive, which ended in a misfire on 4th down inside the A&M 30, after Brandon Weeden over threw an open receiver by just a couple feet at the goal line a play before. Weeden was injured soon thereafter, and will miss the next 2 weeks, while the Pokes try and find an attack to keep them top 25 relevant.

The Aggies, meanwhile, have looked like they may be able to compete early, and will look to continue their turnaround season with wins at Texas Tech and Nebraska, both of whom the Aggies upset last year.

    The River Runs... Orange?
    Texas 56
    Oklahoma 21

Opening kickoff was fumbled by the sooners for a TD, and the rest of the game followed suite. Similar total yardage but +5 forced turnovers for the Longhorns was too much to overcome.

These next few weeks are going to be big for recruiting. Are we still using the recruiting thread?

Wisconsin v Michigan had to be settled in a peculiar way. On the 7th game, with Michigan up 17-7, the connection was lost, even tho I had a direct connect. So, we agreed to start another game, with Mich having a 10 point handicap. The first Q of the new game would be played like the 4th Q of the disconnected game. At the end of the first Q, it was 7-7, which means the final score was, in a way, 24-14 Mich. Mich will play the rest of the game against the CPU. I hope to never have to deal with that dilemma again.

Or at least we THOUGHT it was settled...as I was laying a whoppin' on your badgers (respectfully of course) my XBOX froze up. Would you mind going autopilot so I can finally get this done?

Steamer and I aren't able to play until Thursday night after the World Series. If you guys don't want to wait, that's cool we can take a sim. Otherwise, it looks like we'll play then.

Dre, this picture is awsome. I did not know they render images to the jumbo screens. Though I suspect its replay mode only and just rerenders the original camera. Still cool though. Where is my infinite picture in picture?

*edit, just realized I can see the 3rd image of the player in the jumbo screen.

    haha yeah sure.

Hey by the way I'm gonna start doing the Night Owls Daily differently. I'm gonna start calling it the Night Owls Weekly. Making it a full week thread. So I'll have it out on Mondays as an update on the league as of that day and we'll go at that all week with games of the week and photos/vids/etc. I think I'd like to do an actual Play of the Week but instead of what I was doing it will be for a full real-time week from Monday-Sunday.

Yeah we are pushing back the advance so Steamer and dakota can play tomorrow night. So if Wisconsin and Michigan dare to try again, you gotta another night to do it!
